Jets cornerback Justin Miller was arrested early Sunday and charged with third-degree misdemeanor assault after he allegedly punched a woman in a New York City nightclub, ESPN's Jeremy Schaap is reporting.

Miller was apprehended after a police chase at 4:20 a.m.

Police said Miller was swinging at a man, but hit the woman after the man ducked. The woman has a laceration on her face and swelling and pain in her knee.

Miller made the AFC Pro Bowl roster as a kick returner and was the Jets' lone representative in Hawaii. He averaged 28.3 yards per kick return in 2006 and had two return touchdowns.

This could be bad for the Jets...Mangini wants the team to be a class act like the Patriots, but Miller's heir best return man. Also given Goodell's new rules, is a suspension upcoming or am I overreacting here?

I'm not so sure the Patriots are a class act, or Mangini wants the Jets to be a class act. I think Mangini is modeling the Jets after what he learned under Belichick, but that's on the field stuff. I also find it implausible that Goodell would suspend a player who was merely charged with a misdemeanor.

Jets roll with punches

Atlas trains Gang Green

Atlas, who gained fame as Mike Tyson's first trainer, is teaching more than jabs and hooks. He's also training the players' minds, trying to enhance their concentration and mental toughness. He talks to them about "the gray room," the moment of truth for a reeling boxer. The boxer can retreat to the darkness, surrendering to his opponent, or fight his way back to the light.

"That can be used in life, because we're all in that gray room at some point," Mangini says. "That's what I like about Teddy. He has great insight into the human condition."

That was some roundhouse punch. Missed the guy, got the woman in the face and the knee. The punch must have traveled 12 feet.

I know a girl who dated him in college, and she's got an interesting story about him grabbing her by the throat one night.

Miller was already in the dog house and doesn't seem like the brightest bulb on or now off the field...He was not a Mangini Pick and there's no way in hell Mangini would have drafted this guy, I think everyone on the team including Miller knows this...I think the Jets severely penalize him, even though it seems like not much of a story compared to other teams and players.....Miller also may be 1 step closer to being off the team, he doesn't seem to be the type of guy the Jets are looking for and they can find return guys... Miller has been below average at CB and one of the major reasons the Jets moved up in the draft to get Revis, who can also return....Wouldn't be shocked at all to see Miller gone and an opportunity for the Jets to set a Big example here, again, even though relatively speaking this incident may turn out to be a misdmeaner. Just not sure of the salary implications which could be bad.

What guy's throat was he trying to grab that time? :lmao:

If I were the Jets or Goodell, I'd be more concerned by the fact that the report says he was apprehended at 4:20 AM following a police chase. Was he purposely trying to elude the police? That kind of raises some eyebrows...
