Justin Miller (1 Viewer)

Houston was kicking the ball short to keep it away from Miller. The Jets had pretty good field position as a result, but Houston only kicked off what, 3 times? As a CB, he is now behind Dyson, Barrett and Drew Coleman.

Thanks for the update Rovers, and for your input in the previous Justin Miller threads. It'll be nice next year when my league rules change from 1pt per 15 return yard, I feel like an IDP phony playing this guy every week.

Fortunately I benched him this week, figuring he wouldn't get many return attempts. Not that my other DB's lit it up, just nice to know I made the right decision.

Do you think he's worth keeping for his return numbers or is this going to be a continuous thing?
I'm stashing him, he might not be the brightest guy around but he is only a 2nd year player and has potential to be a beast. If he keeps struggling in coverage and stays buried on the depthchart nezt season and beyond, then I start thinking about cutting him

I tend to argee with the Helmet.... Miller has the talent to be a true shut down all-pro CB. He's very fast, has make up speed and hits hard. He fails to wrap up and blows his assignments much too often. That won't fly for long with Mangini. Just how stupid is Miller? He said his idol was L Fahrakan, or however his name is spelled.... the very same guy that is suspected of being behind the murder of Malcolm X. Kid just doesn't get it. Off topic, but he went public with that little tid bit last year.

Mangini loves him as a KO returner though, and I'm sure he will do all he can to make Miller grasp the system. Miller had a lot of trouble with H Edwards' system last year too. He also tends to make bad risk taking decisions, going after a ball he has no shot to catch, and letting the WR get by him. With Miller, it's all mental mistakes. Kid has a ton of talent.

So for IDP purposes, in leagues that give points for return yards, Miller is about a half-notch above Chris Carr at this point? Would you agree with that assessment?

Hard for me to comment on that, as I am not in any leagues that award return yardage points, so it isn't something I've studied much.... just an avid homer's take on Miller is all I can offer. Even Hank Poteat is getting more time than Miller at CB now.... yes, the same Poteat the DB starved Pats cut....

In my league Mcgee has 216pts, Miller has 165, R. Barber 158, Carr has 157, Rhodes 156Pacman Jones has been good lately returning punts. Would he be someone to pick up?

What is it with the teams the Jets play that makes it almost impossible to get any kickreturns?

Favre is washed up and better retire because he absolutely sucks.

I think I mentioned this before... but the Jets' defense is playing much better, having only given up an average of 11.2 points per game for the last 4 weeks (including today). The schedule doesn't have any high scoring teams left on it... Buf, Min, Mia and Oak. I expect Miller's return opportunities to remain pretty low. That's 4 weeks in a row that the Jets have only returned a KO 3 times per game. Too bad he has terrible hands... or he'd be returning punts too.
