Justin Vincent (1 Viewer)

OK FFI pimped Justin Vincent a few times as a sleeper RB. Everyone knows Coach Petrino likes to use big RBs. Well ATL has no big RBs. And now with the injury to Dunn maybe Vincent gets a chance to make the team and become the Thunder to Norwood's lightning. At the very least Vincent may be a good goalline option. What do you guys think about this former LSU UDFA.

Im keeping an eye on him, but my money is on snelling to be the big back that Petrino prefers

Once again I will point out that the very first day fa began atlanta acquired their big rb in the the 6' 1" 255 lb ovie mughelli and then signed him to a 6 year $18 mil deal

If Norwood or Snelling get hurt, then The Falcons RB situation will look extremely interesting. But until then, I think it is difficult to table players which are third or fourth on the depth chart as deep sleepers.

The burst Vincent showed in his fabulous freshman season is gone and nowhere to be found (at least last time I watched him play at the Texas Vs the Nation practices) - he's still an excellent pass catcher, but very pedestrian running the ball.

Mughelli is a fullback.
what's your point? He's still gonna be the big bruising rb that they use ala' tj duckett
He is a non factor, it's not like he is going to get many touches. He was signed as a fullback, not to carry the ball.

I agree that he will be used more as a lead blocker. I tink Snelling has the best chance to come out of the depth at RB. I'll be watching the other guys closely though. Snelling and Vincent might both get a lot of time in the preseason games to show what they can do

LSU :excited: and couldn't agree more, he came out the gates great and then disappeared.

LSU is my favorite college team and I expect Vincent to be cut before the start of the season. His freshmen season was great (even created him on Madden for kicks) - then nothing.

It's been a problem since his ACL surgery. He is a great special teams player though, so I think he'll make the team with the shallow depth.FWIW: Alley Broussard another LSU RB with promise tore his ACL that year and never returned to his form. He quit the team this week.

I think too many people put too many eggs in one basket with former college coaches who become NFL head coaches, esp in their first seasons. Think Saban, Spurrier, Ericson...lets see what Petrino does in preseason before we break out the anointing oils..for the most part, I don't buy into the 'college coach turned NFL head coach' success story. fact is, most fail, save for Jimmy Johnson and Switzer..plus, you have Joey friggin Harrington throwing the ball down there, could it get ANY worse?!repeat after me: 8-man fronts..Harrington is going to see a lot of them..

Vincent is terrible. It's baffling how this guy went from being so good to being so awful. I HATED Less Miles for his stubborness in continuing to put Vincent on the field last year.
