Kahlil Bell (1 Viewer)

My concerns with Bell are:1) If GB does get off to a fast start, say 14-0, 21-0 by the 2nd quarter, do the Bears run the ball?2) Even if the game is closer than most think, why does't GB stack the line with 8 and force them to throw? There's absolutely no deep threat with Knox gone (not that he was consistent to begin with). Bennett is a nice WR, but has disapeared without Cutler, and is a possession type WR, and he's their best option. 3) Caleb Hanie did like to throw the ball to Bell. Will McNown? He seems more likely to me to take a few more chances down the field. Will that mean less pass attempts, if I'm right about McNown?
Bell catches the ball (10 catches in last 2 games for 67 yards and a score). So in this scenario he will likely get check downs.Even if they stack the line or are down at ton early I don't see how Bell's floor is less than 10 fantasy points in a PPR league.

Packers defense is not good. In addition, Pickett is out. Green and Neal are also 50/50 and limited. That's 3 d linemen on a bad defense already. Packers get turnovers, they have only "stopped" two offenses all year. I don't expect Bell to rush for 100 but it's not a difficult matchup

Agree.I see 50 rushing and 50 receiving as the floor. Add in a few receptions there and you are looking good for my floor prediction of about 10 points.

and they are no longer undefeated and they may have nothing to play for on Sunday night.

Very difficult situation to read, but it seems that the result of the 49ers game is the key. Bell is going to get his chances regardless but the result of the 49ers game will determine how much Bell's opportunity translates to tangible results. If the 49ers win, I see GB playing lights out to the point of destroying Chiacgo which in turn will limit Bell's productivity (garbage points are hard to predict). However, if the 49ers lose, I can see GB relaxing thus boosting Bell's chances of puting up serious points.

The problem with this theory of course, is that you will have to wait to see what happens in Seattle first.

The more I read and think about this the more I like it.

I think some of you are underestimating the fact that this is a rivalry game being played in prime time on Christmas. Plus this is week 16, not week 17. I don't see how you start resting players in week 16 if you have a bye the first week of the playoffs. That's like 3 or 4 weeks off going into the playoffs? Now way. I think the Packers come to play all game this week regardless of the 49er-Seahawk outcome. The Bears played hard and played their starters for 4 quarters last year when the game meant nothing to them. I predict Packers will do the same.

Even if they do play the whole game Bell will still have a solid day. Its not like the Packers can't be run on. And Bell can catch the check down and screen just fine.

F it...I got this far playing backups and pickups to get me here.

Most of my lineup was injury subs part of the year and so on.

Keep rolling with em.

Bell in.

Only Brees, McCoy, and Graham from my original draft.

Laurent, Spiller, Bell, Harvin all pickups.

Even if they get behind wont he catch some balls?
10 catches in 2 weeks and Barber was playing during that time (Barber had 4 targets 2 catches in week 14)...they are thin and have no one else to turn to.

I don't get this. This thing smells bad to me. What if Chicago who has no skill players to speak of at this point can't even get past the 50 yard line. And yet people are coming in here and acting as if he's the second coming of Gayle Sayers and gonna account for three TDs? Hasn't Chicago scored like three total Tds their last few games?

And FBGs ranks him 8th? That's madness.

No way I start him over Sproles the more I think about this. Anyone benching Greene, Gore or Lynch for him is playing with fire IMHO.

I'd like to know where FBG ranked Jennings last year in week 16 against Washington? What did he get like 3 points? It burned my ### that's for sure.
What did Jennings do week 17? I don't know how Jennings' subpar performance week 16 last year has anything to do with Bell.
Because he was getting a lot of the same type of hype as Bell is now, despite not having shown anything all year. He didn't do much in Week 16, then had the big game we were all counting on in 17.
Bell had 5 receptions, 108 yards and a touchdown last week. Jennings had 20 yards week 15 last year.
OK, so how about Michael Bush in 2009? http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/8354/gamelog;_ylt=AkHammeuLQeCx4bf17FGUY7.uLYF?year=2009Week 15 vs Denver: 144 total yards, TD

Week 16 vs Cleveland: 59 yards, no TD

And yes, I started him in my championship.

Look, I think Bell will probably have a good game. I'm just not willing to bet my championship on it happening.

for me, I dont have any better options so i am happy to take the chance. I prob would roll with something else if I had a more consistent option...

hes had a good game but his goal line probs have really hurt me... Went into tonight with a 52 pt lead against jordy and rodgers. Now losing... ;(

what does everyone think of him for dynasty purposes? Suppose Forte holds out due to a contract dispute, can he be a consistent top 20 RB every week he starts?

Not sure. The fumbling and goal-line issues aside, he seems like pretty decent all-around back. Good size. Decent hands. Not blazing, but fast enough...

I'd say he's a good compliment to Forte. Takes some of the pressure off of him. Forte and Bell in the back field may eventually be a 65-35 split to keep Forte fresh. Not exactly good for fantasy though.

Overall a very good game but man oh man he was close to a monster one. Two carries fall a foot short of TD's, god that was brutal.

So after all that tsuris, Bell and Stewart finished within a point of each other, and none of it mattered for me because Romo hurt his hand. There's fantasy in a nutshell.

Don't be so sure Forte will be a Bear next year. This is the Bears' management we're talking about. I don't want to knee jerk but Bell can be a three down back. This guy has looked good every time he's touched the ball yet they bring in Barber to fumble away the season. Typical Angelo.

Kahlil does show promise but Forte is a proven commodity at this point. I think at the least the Bears will Franchise him. Not much Forte can do about it. Forte is a stud and Bell is a nice up and comer that becomes golden if Forte goes down. Just my opinion though.

IMO Bell will be this years Tate. A handcuff or a shark stolen guy in the mid to late rounds.

Anyone who played Bell last night, your risk was rewarded. Congratulations! Two items re: Bell and Forte related.First:Bell had nice blocking last night - he did not make anyone miss. He ran hard through holes like a young running back should. He took advantage of this unique opportunity and he looked good. He seems like a very nice person and I wish him luck in the future. The offense the Bears ran last night was a dumbed down version of the base Martz offense with two blocking tight ends and max protection. The Bears offensive goal was not to turn the ball over and see what happens on defense and special teams. When Cutler is back, they will run a big boy offense again, completely changing Bell's value. The Bears will re sign Forte next year and I do believe Bell will have a role. It will not be RBBC but will be like a Turner/Snelling or Gore/Hunter deal. Bell's role will be mostly to spell Forte and maybe become a third down back if Bell improves dramatically in his blocking and overall football competency.Second:If the Bears had played McCown the last four games and Bell (after Forte went down) with the same gameplan as last night, I believe they would have won two of these games and still be in the playoff hunt. I put this one on the Bear's GM for keeping Hanie around and not recognizing his skill set.

I'm in no way saying Bell is close to the skill level of Forte. I'm simply stating that the Bears have done crazier things than letting Forte go. This is the same team that's drafted three offensive linemen in the first round the past 10 years with preexisting injuries that have sent them to the IR their rookie years. I do think they franchise him. I'm just saying if you're in a dynasty league it's worth taking a stab at Bell on the better than one would think chance Forte isn't a Bear next year.

Just one of many decisions made this year that somehow turned out for me.

Last minute had Bell and put him in after reading about Dallas...sat L. Robinson for Dez...sat Felix and Morris for Bell.

Had the luck this year and will enjoy a nice post-Christmas bonus.
