Kalimba Edwards (1 Viewer)

This guy could not have a better situation entering this season.

** James Hall is gone and Edwards is the undisputed starter at RDE.

** Redding is confirmed at DT. He bounced between DE and DT last year.

** Shaun Rogers is healthy after playing in only 6 games last year.

** DeWayne White was signed and he's a legit pass-rushing threat on the left side.

** Edwards' game (albeit one dimensional) is speed and he gets to play the majority of his games on turf.

Edwards has all the physical skills (early 2nd-round pick in '02) and is playing for a mammoth paycheck (signed a 4-year, $20mm extension in '06). If he stays on the roster, he'll have some hefty pay days over the next few years. If does not stay on the roster, his money-making days will come to an end. Edwards is on record as saying that he has "stole money" from the Lions organization by not producing thus far. If nothing else, the guy know where he stands. Another sub 10-sack season and he'll most likely give way to Alama-Francis next year and be cut.

He's on my radar roster for a pickup and starting :)
:lmao:
This is my issue with what I consider my "primary" dynasty league... their are salary and contract year penalties, so aside from having to bid on him, I have to cut someone and take a hit there. I'm at 87/90 cap years, so I have to be very judicious about who I pick up and drop. It sucks, because otherwise I would be totally over a few of these guys, but then hey I guess it's more realistic too :)

Week 1:

2 sacks

2 forced fumbles

2 solos - 1 assist

Week 2:

0.5 sack

2 assists

Season:

2.5 sacks

2 forced fumbles

2 solos - 3 assists

Week 2:

0.5 sack

2 assists
He was injured in the game, so I'm sure that had something to do with his limited stats.
Kalimba didn't miss much time. He will never be a big tackle guy .
Yeah, but it was his ankle (if I recall correctly). Speed guys are not as effective if they have and injuy, let alone ankle or leg issues. So, him being on the field doesn't mean all was peachy.S. Rice was a prime example last year of how an injury affected a speed rushing DE. He was on the field, but not himself.

Exactly. His problem is that if he doesn't get any sacks, he is worthless.
I'd say that if they get sacks on a regular basis, then what does it matter. S. Rice was a beast for the last several years (other than last year, when he was injured). All he gets is sacks and a forced fumble or two...yeah, no real high tackle counts either. Seeing how he turns in sack per game or two....better than any DE that gets 3-4 tackles and the occasional sack. This is providing that FF scoring awards 3 or more pts + the tackle score too.
