Kamala is now a double amputee! Sad. (1 Viewer)

Still, to protect himself, Harris said he began carrying a smaller gun to the ring with him each time they wrestled. He hid the weapon in a pouch inside his loincloth, a secret he kept from even his closest friends.
Damn.

Just read that about an hour ago. It's a shame he got on Vince's bad side by quitting without notice the first time he was with the WWF because the 'legends' deal the WWE gives to most inactive wrestlers would really help him.

Poor guy. That is a really good (and sad) article. I remember watching him wrestle many, many times.
I saw him wrestle live in Dallas when I was in 4th or 5th grade. My grandfather took me and actually got into wrestling a little so we could have some mutual interests (this is a man who graduated from Harvard, dressed in fine suits and loved classical music) and he actually seemed to enjoy it. Once flew on the same plane as Ice Man King Parsons, recognized him and got me an autograph. I digress....

Kamala at the time was a rock star in the Dallas/Ft. Worth wrestling scene. Despite his popularity, I was terrified of him when he came down the aisle and into the ring. Along his way in with the tribal music and the mystique, a young man darted into Kamala's path and tried to approach him, for what I have no idea. Kamala picked him up like a rag doll and tossed him aside. The man lay motionless as Kamala continued into the ring. Now, in hindsight, I'm sure it was part of the act, but my god, a 10-year-old version of me was mortified by this.

Sad story, for sure. Will never forget watching him that night.

I was terrified of him as well.

The Mecca in Milwaukee...Kamala vs. King Kong Bundy in a stretcher match. Good times as a kid.

Loved matches in that place. The nachos tasted so good as a kid. I'm sure the dead rats in the cheese vat helped the flavor.

I hope someone reads this and reaches out. Someone needs to put together a crowd fund

looks like it did

What Kamala needs is for his fellow wrestlers from his World Class days to pitch in a little to help the big man out. All it would require was some donations from David, Kerry, Chris, and Mike Von Erich. Maybe get some additional donations fron Gino Hernandez, 'Gentlemen' Chris Adams, Bruiser Brody, 'Ravishing' Rick Rude, Terry 'Bam Bam' Gordy, and the Dingo Warrior as well.
