The kid has quietly put up a very nice rookie season, along with a great attitude and has to be considered a major breakout candidate next year.

Does anyone see something that might suggest otherwise? I'm not saying that he'll put up Merriman '06 numbers, but a couple more tackles each week and I see him pretty close to that top-25 LB's.

Wimbkey's value will depend on Crennel and to some extend the health and ability of the ILBs. Remember D'Qwell got injured. If the interior makes more plays the outside will not. Since I have Wimbley on one squad for another 3 years obviously I hope he will show improvement in the tackles and become a decent LB2 - odds favour him being LB4 in a 12 teamer though.

Hmmm, I updated with today's numbers and I was thinking of dropping this guy. But looking at your comparison he's outdone both of those guys in their rookie seasons. Although Merriman's holdout probably kept his numbers lower, but the steroids also "pumped" his numbers up. The big thing with Dallas and San Diego is that overall I think they have more talent on defense than Cleveland does. But this does look very promising.

With only a 25-man roster, I too was thinking about not picking him up from my rookie squad once our league deadline hit, but yeah, those numbers look nice when compared.
