QB Green Gets "OK" To Resume Practicing

Elizabeth Merrill, Kansas City Star - [Full Article]

After nearly six weeks, Kansas City QB Trent Green has been cleared to practice. Green will begin seven-on-seven and nine-on-seven team work when the club resumes full workouts Wednesday. Chiefs GM Carl Peterson said late Friday that the green light was given after an evaluation by a couple of neurologists and team doctor Jon Browne. Peterson also noted that Green's replacement QB Damon Huard will still take the majority of the snaps in practice next week. “We’re still anticipating Damon to be the starter for the next week (against Seattle),” he said. “But we’ll see how fast Trent comes along."

 Thanks for the update. Just traded away some QB depth as I anticipated I'd be able to move Green off IR soon and depend on him for a spot start or two down the stretch.

If he comes back healthy this should be a nice bump for the entire Chiefs offense. I was always thinking he'd target Wk 9 @ STL, that looks to be the game.

Not sure I would start him out of the gate, but after that he has MIA then two games vs OAK as well as CLE, so a few decent QB mathcups where he would be playable as part of a QBBC.

And of course best part is Wk 16 vs. OAK.

I picked him up for depth this week, wanted to lock him up before he was cleared to practice. My rationale for targeting him is he is the most experienced QB likely to see a lot of single coverage.

Mort just said Trent Green told him that he doesn't anticipate a return for another 3 to 4 games.
Mort said this, or Green saod this to Mort? Just want to clarify...(I picked up Green to stash, but maybe Plummer is the better guy right now.)

Mort said that Green said this to Mort.Confused yet?Honestly, I'd take it as pretty credible. I mean, Green has been out for 2 months now. And that includes even being on a practice field. He only started light workouts a couple weeks ago. So going back to last year, he's played 3 quarters of football since DEC, and was basically forced to sit around on his ### for over a month. He's going to need some time to get back up to speed.

You mean Cutler. ;)
Not sure yet, he could be. I just think that if Culter gets the call, no way Shanny opens up the offense more than it is right now. Plummer I think is the better fantasy option. If he find sthe pine, I am not sure Cutler will be any better (fantasy wise).

Trent Green said that to Mort.
Just to nitpick, from what I saw Mort said that Green said that to him.Not to say Mort's lying, but when you play the game of "telephone" and paraphrase what someone else told you, information can be get skewed sometimes.
