Mike McCoy is a great magician.....,how else can a 6'2" 215 lbs man disappear in broad day light!

Seriously though, it appears their may be too many mouths to feed in San Diego....with Floyd, Royal, Gates, etc... And Allen appears to be drawing the best cover corner where applicable......Milliner this past weekend....

We saw a glimpse against JAX....this Jet performance was disappointing. Last year with Floyd and Royal banged up there may have been the perfect storm.

High end WR3 from this point on....

Not too many WRs aren't going to have quiet weeks.

He still lead the team in targets yesterday (see below - apologies for formatting). Just wasn't a day where Rivers needed to sling the ball that much, and the Jets just left Gates open quite a bit. Also, he had an underthrown pass in the end zone yanked away from him, otherwise we don't have this discussion.

Name Pts Rec Yds TD Tgt Ajirotutu, Seyi SDC WR 1 1 11 1 Allen, Keenan SDC WR 3 3 25 7 Brown, Donald SDC RB 4 1 4 2 Floyd, Malcom SDC WR 10 3 72 3 Gates, Antonio SDC TE 22 4 60 2 6 Green, Ladarius SDC TE 1 1 8 1 Oliver, Branden SDC RB 37 4 68 1 4 Royal, Eddie SDC WR 7 3 40 3

I have him in 2 leagues where I only start 2 WR. I was hoping he'd end up WR1 worthy, but would settle for WR2 value. So far he's not there, but the targets give me hope. I'm holding on for a while longer. I still think he may be a good buy low target for my other leagues that use more WR, but would hope he'd be my WR3 or lower.

He got injured early, stayed in, rode the bike and checked out early in the 4th qtr to receive treatment. Just one of those days I hope. With the emergence of Royal, Floyd Gates and Green, I'm not sure where KA finds his niche here?

One of those days seems to be every day with Allen, unless he's going up against Jacksonville.

I'm an owner and I'm holding tight. Royal always seems to have a stretch where he's $$ and then he fades quietly away...Gates is the only true threat to targets. I believe things will even out, hopefully sooner than later.

Malcolm Floyd got dinged up and spent most of the 2nd half standing on the sidelines w his helmet on.

Keenan himself got dinged up twice. I dont think he's 100%

Rivers is a very good underrated veteran QB. He is going to find the weak spots and attack them. Gates has been getting his so as soon as teams pay him a little more attention Allen should get his. The positive is that he does have a quality QB slinging the ball.

are people still chasing last years stats with this guy....?.....his adp was way too high going into this year....if you look at the circumstances last year and really break down his numbers, this season shouldn't really be a surprise....he had a couple of big games during the fantasy playoffs last year helping many owners and the hangover effect pushed his adp way too high.....those counting on WR1 type numbers or even high WR2 numbers will be disappointed....IMO he is nothing more than a WR3 or 4 this year....you are probably better off with guys like Terrance Williams or Randle or something....who you could have drafted much later.....

i've noticed he's usually open in the middle of the field, but rivers is getting so much from royal gates and floyd right now. stats will average out and go allen's way.

As a Jets' fan, the bolded makes me very sad.

Except quiet weeks are the norm for Keenan Allen. When my receivers have an off week, I say they pulled a Keenan Allen.

In the playoff weeks 14-16 last year he had a total of 8 catches for 114 yards, not very good. It's just that owners were lucky to get bailed out by short yardage TD's (5 of those catches were TD's), which was an anomaly, not anything anyone should have been expecting to continue.

Allen has had 7 of his first 22 NFL games go for 100+ yards. He's also scored 10 TDs over that span. As a point of reference, Calvin Johnson had 4 games over 100 and 8 TDs during his first 22 NFL games.

I do think there is reason for concern over Allen however. He had a phenomenal rookie year. Had an outstanding game vs Denver in the playoffs too. However, outside of one very nice game vs Jax, he's been held to 55 yards or less in the other 4 games this year. Its enough of a trend to become slightly concerning IMO. I don't know if he's hurt, or NFL defenses have adjusted to him and he's having trouble getting open.

Rivers simply has too many options right now. He attacks the matchup, he doesn't care who it is because everyone is doing their job when called upon. Floyd has really opened up the offense and is forcing teams to respect the deep ball which has opened up everything underneath. Gates, Royal, and Allen are all getting open, not even counting the RB's.

I would be patient with Allen, it's not like he lost the talent, he's just not the only one getting open now. Teams can't double Gates exclusively now because of Floyd. If they don't respect Floyd, he's getting 20+ yards per catch.

Teams will eventually be forced to double Gates again because he is simply destroying teams. That will open it up again for Keenan. I would look to trade KA if you could get value for him, I just doubt you will get it. He's also likely to go on a tear if he gets the opportunity, so selling low on him could backfire.

Ahh, the dreaded "too many touchdowns" anomoly. I hate it when that happens. :)

Rivers is playing the best he's ever played in his NFL career. I say Keenan is a buy-low if anything.

Traded him and Hurns for Gordon and DeSean Jackson in a PPR dynasty league a month ago. At the time, felt I was taking a HUGE risk. Feeling better and better about the trade the longer Gordon goes without getting into trouble and the more it apperas Allen won't repeat last year's numbers.

He has already cost me 2 games in which I thought there was "no way" I could lose with it being a ppr league. Surprise!

I usually never base a draft pick on 1 year of production. The 2 times I have....Spiller and Allen. Think I've learned.

I think with floyd hurting he gets a few more targets this week. Bet he gets his first td in this game. If you recall last year, when he scored tds he scored them in bunches. I would not sit him unless your other option is great

I don't like hoping for injuries, but he prob won't be great until floyd or gates gets hurt. The good thing is those guys get hurt constantly. Floyd is already hurting

If you played him every week so far, he would have hurt you 4 out of 5 of those weeks. He's only in my lineup when I'm desperate due to injuries or byes. Luckily his one decent week so far was a week I needed him. He needs to put together 2 decent games in a row to be a regular in my lineup.

He's starting for me in start 3 wr. Over decker and mathews...

I still like Allen quite a bit. I'd be trying to buy low as it sounds like there are a lot of owners that are sick of him.

Is he a WR1? No, and he likely won't be. But I think a top-20 finish is still very possible. all it takes is one big game to get right back on track, as Demaryius Thomas owners can attest.

If Oakland doesn't cure him nothing will.
Do you mean the Oakland who hasn't given up more than 84 yards to a WR all year? The same Oakland who has given up onl 2 TDs to WRs all year?
LOL. That is as much an indication of the quality of the opponent's QB than anything else. Rivers is on a whole other level or two. Believe me, as a Raider, I wish it was an endorsement of the defense. It is not.

With AJ Green hurt, he's still riding my bench as I'm starting Harvin, Benjamin, and Quick over him.

I could start 4 WRs by slotting him in my Flex spot, so technically I'm starting Steven Jackson over him as well.

I'm not angry or hating, I've played this "game" long enough to know that guys have slow starts, or aberration years early that make us think they are gonna be studs for the next decade (Koren Robinson anyone?), but to say that Keenan has been a TREMENDOUS dissapointment would be an understatement.

I also have harvin and allen in one league. The league rewards rtn stats and even with those harvin is only 5 pt better than allen. Amazing that both have not scored more

I'm debating between Allen and Floyd (AZ) right now. I guess it depends on who starts at QB for AZ. The boys on the THR night podcast broke down Allen a bit and DR Jene said something about Allen being more hurt than we are hearing and that his quad/thigh issue is the reason for his lack of numbers. I think he went FULL on Friday though so he should be good to go.

SD Red Zone Targets

Gates 5 = 5 TD's (29 total)

Allen 5 = 0 TD's (35 total)

Royal 4 = 4 TD's (32 total)

Floyd 2 = 2 TD's (18 total)

Not that all the TD's come from the red zone but Allen is getting targets and catching 70% of all the passes coming his way. I wouldn't give up on him just yet.

Exactly, this is what garbage receivers look like when they don't get lucky TD's. The thing is, the "too many touchdowns" anomaly can't last, it was just that, an anomaly.

Anybody gonna sucker themselves into suffering through another week of this guy in your lineup? Just read that the Royal injury isn't bad and he shouldn't miss any time. I just know when I sit him he's gonna go off.
