Keep Crowell in the 8th or Martavus Bryant in the 18? (1 Viewer)

In a 12-team, standard scoring, 3 player-keeper league. We start: QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, Flex (RB/WR/TE), K, DST

Keeper rules:

  • Only players drafted after the 5th round can be kept.
  • Players can be kept for a Max of 3yrs:
  • Yr 1 = 1 round prior to draft round (ex. Drafted in round 7 = round 6 keeper)
  • Yr 2 = ½ the previous round (ex. In above scenario, you’d lose your 3rd round pick)
  • Yr 3 = round 1
my 1st 2 keepers are set (David Johnson - 6th round & Jordy Nelson - 7th).

I have the 2nd pick in my draft and am considering the below options:

  1. Draft Antonio Brown and keep Bryant (even though on the same team) for my 18th round pick
  2. draft Antonio Brown and keep Crowell for my 8th round pick
  3. try & trade Crowell to the person drafting #1 to get Lev Bell and then keep Bryant
obviously, #3 is contingent on the other guy accepting the trade, but wanted to gauge how others would rank the above scenarios.

Thanks in advance

based on being able to get Brown with the 1.02 I would keep Crowell and enjoy DJ & Brown together....

I'd keep crowell too, lots of positive things from analysts out there and it makes sense. He could be the bell cow there.

Check out my keeper question here, any suggestions, feedback is appreciated too!

I'm actually a little surprised at the general consensus of Crowell here... but appreciate all the thoughts and am leaning Crowell now.

One alternative thought; if I could trade for  Jordan Howard as a 10th round Keeper, would you keep him over Crowell?

and kroc, the link you have here just goes to the Assistant Coach. I'm happy to help with yours; just need to know the question.

Thanks again all

Answering you're follow up post - I'm not as high on Crowell as the rest.  Taking the potential to draft Brown at 1.02 out of the equation, I like Bryant in 18 better than Crowell in 8.  I also like Howard in 10 over Crowell in 8, though I'm not sure what that would cost you.

Of the three, assuming you go Brown at 1.02, Howard in 10 is my choice.  But if you can't get Howard, and you have other options at 1.02 than Brown (OBJ/Julio/Bell), I'd keep Bryant at 18.

The only players off the board at 1.02 would likely be: Bell & OBJ. That being said, I have Brown definitely rated above Julio, so not sure i could pass on Brown for Julio there.
