I have the 8th pick in the upcoming 18 round draft and want some opinions on my keeper options. I do not know what the other teams keeper will be.

Antonio Brown lose my first round pick

Jerick McKinnon lose my 18th round pick

What are your guys thoughts?

Thanks

I assume every team just gets one keeper.  That means you will have quality available at your pick at 1.08.  The value of McKinnon is just too high in the 18th round to pass that up.  One player isn't going to make or break you but you will be fine letting Brown go and having a borderline top 12 RB in the 18th round.

Keep McKinnon.  Getting a strong RB2 in the 18th round is great.  You will be able to get a great player at 1.08, even though it won't be Brown.  Also it really helps you be able to pick BPA for the first few rounds, knowing you have a solid RB2 in the fold.

Yea, Mckinnon is too cheap and the difference between Brown and who you get with the 8th pick probably isn't that great but without knowing who the other keepers are in the league it is really impossible to say. Throw us out who you believe will be available to you with the 8th pick.

Im thinking available players for me at 1.08

obj, michael thomas, julio jones, devonta freeman, dalvin cook,

players potentially available at 2.05

k. allen, d. adams, j. howard, j. mixon, t kelce, gronk

I really thought it was a no brainer to keep mckinnon i just wanted to make sure i wasn't pulling the trigger to fast. I have kept Antonio Brown in this league for like 4 seasons now

Thanks for all your feedback

Keep McKinnon all day long, I'd slightly disagree with fightingillini though even though OBJ and Jones are tempting to pick up in the first but I'd rather go with Cook or Freeman with the first pick with Allen or Adams in round 2. Cook and Freeman are RB1's while Mixon or Howard are RB2's and Allen and Adams are still WR1's in the 2nd round. I just think your team would be better off with a RB1 and a WR1 than a WR1 and a RB2. Unless it was a TE premium league do not even consider the TE's in the second round with the caliber of RB's and WR's available.

That's fair and I am not going to argue against you beerbuff....my take is...since you have a good RB2 in the fold, I take the BPA in the 1st 3 rounds.  And the BPA would be OBJ or Julio if they are available.  OBJ and Julio are elite WR1s. I do prefer OBJ due to his TD upside.

I would much rather have OBJ and Howard than say, Freeman and Adams.  No way Freeman can be a top 5 RB unless Coleman gets hurt.  (I am not a huge fan of Adams and think he's going to be overrated in drafts this year).  BTW, I like Howard this year....the Bears are going to be vastly improved on offense.  I wouldn't be surprised to see Howard rush for 1200 yards and 10 TDs.

Personally, I'd take Cook over Freeman and if Allen were available in the second...well kaaaacccchhhhing. With BPA you'd likely end up with WR WR in the first 2 rounds.
