Keeper: Antonio Brown deal (1 Viewer)

I'm in a 12-team keeper league (1 pt PPR) where you have to keep four players. I haven't decided on my final four but know for sure I'm keeping David Johnson (lose my 6th round pick) and Willie Snead (5th).

With that being said, I was considering the idea of trading Antonio Brown (my 1st round pick) before our draft. I'd burn a first-rounder by keeping him, which isn't that big of a deal, but with Ben hemming and hawing over retirement in 2018, it's making me wonder if now would be a good time to test the market.

A guy in our league offered me Stefon Diggs (6th rounder) and his first round pick (most likely the second pick in the draft after keepers are finalized) for Brown. I'll be honest and admit I rarely consider deals for my studs because you're normally getting a 2-for-1. Would this be enough for AB, or should I be asking for more? I like the idea of getting younger at wideout, and Diggs looks to be a good one on paper — despite the injury history.

Keep AB. A "first" round pick is not close to a normal 1st round pick when everyone is keeping 4 players. In normal redraft you get the 1st overall pick (DJ) and the 4th overall pick (AB). When you only keep 4 players don't worry about youth as much or maybe at all. Basically, you're just keeping studs. You're over thinking this.

If you have a later 1st round pick it increases the value of keeping Brown for you.  You will not get anybody the caliber of Brown that late in the draft.  I would need a lot more than what was offered.  Diggs is nice but he is not a difference maker.  I would need to get a difference maker plus to trade Brown.

I am not sure Snead is worth a 5th round keeper.  That doesn't seem like a good value play.  I don't know  what your other options are but it seems there would be better value elsewhere.

Really appreciate the responses. This one of the reasons why I really like these forums.

I won the league last year and have a tendency to look ahead instead of staying in the moment. I'm going to keep AB and press on. No reason to mess with success after a big season.

As far as Snead, I'm extremely high on him this season. He's been going anywhere from 5-7 and I feel comfortable taking him in the slot. I'm most likely going to keep Cam Meredith (11th). Other option is Spencer Ware (12th) but I'm not sold on him having a strong hold on the job come Week 1. I'd rather take my chance and grab an RB (maybe Fournette or CMac) at the turn in the second and go from there.

my thoughts exactly

I wouldn't worry about Big Ben.  One, worry about winning this year.  Two, AB can be a stud with someone else throwing him the ball.

So keep AB for the exact reasons Borden outlined.

Yeah, I need to realize I'm playing for this season instead of for the future. Try and get too cute sometimes.

That being said, who would y'all keep from the following players...

Donte Moncrief (10th) or Cameron Meredith (11th)

I would keep Meredith.  I think he will be the #1 for the Bears and will have a solid season.  Moncrief may be without Luck and is already battling a shoulder injury.

I'd keep Moncrief. Better offense, and I'm not too worried about Luck yet. Meredith has some upside, but his production last year came with different QBs, and teams focusing on Jeffery.
