Keeper decision (1 Viewer)

I'm in a 12 team auction league, 200 dollar budget, 0.5 ppr.  We can have one keeper, and my two choices are between Hunt at $29 and David Johnson at $71.  I originally was leaning towards Hunt at $29, but the more i think about it, the more I like Johnson at $71.  I don't think Hunt is a viable RB1, but $29 is more than I would want to spend at the RB2 position.  With Johnson, I feel like I can take a lower ranked RB for the RB2 position and focus on getting two good wide receivers.  Would love to hear people's opinion.

I've never done an auction draft so feel free to completely ignore my advice lol.

I guess what I'd want to know is how much do you anticipate people like Gurley, Zeke, DJ, etc. going for this year? Is $71 a pretty significant discount to what you think DJ would go for this year? I legitimately have no clue what the answer to those questions are but that's what I'd be thinking about (and you probably already are too).

$29 feels like a pretty dang good deal on Hunt. I understand your reservations on him, and I feel like his 2018 season will look more like the second half of his 2017 season than his first half, but IMO he's still a solid RB1. I understand you may not love him as your RB1, but as someone with zero auction experience, I feel like thats a good deal.

I think your total cost will be less keeping Hunt and rebuying DJ than keeping DJ and rebuying Hunt. I think DJ should go for less than $71 and I know that Hunt will go for more than $29.

Yeah, at the end of the day i elected to keep hunt for this very reason.  I can probably get someone like Zeke or Barkley for cheaper than 71, but Hunt at 29 is too good a value to pass up, even though i'm not sold on him after how he played in the second half of last year.
