I can keep 0, 1, or 2 players.  I have the 12th pick out of 12 teams. Not PPR. We can start up to 3 RB's.  I'm no doubt keeping Melvin Gordon because I only have to give up my 6th round pick for him (steal!).  I'm debating between two other players to keep if either of them.  First choice is Lesean McCoy with my 2nd round pick (13th overall) and 2nd choice is Ty Montgomery with my 8th round pick. McCoy is obviously the better player, but keeping Montgomery and seeing what I get at 13 seems like a better value.  Players who CAN'T be kept (because they were keepers last year) include David Johnson, Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, Odell Beckham Jr., Devonta Freeman, Jordy Nelson, Rob Gronkowski, and T.Y. Hilton though some (or all) of them could be drafted before I pick assuming the people above me don't give up their first round pick to keep someone.  I can only imagine one guy doing that to keep Le'Veon Bell with the 9th pick, but A.J. Green and Mike Evans could be kept too if those guys aren't looking for value and just want to lock up those players.

Long term value isn't an issue here since you can't keep someone for more than 1 year.  So I would keep Montgomery and pick the 2 BPA at 12 and 13.  You will build the best team that way.

Good luck.

Obviously, you can't just keep players forever and McCoy/Gordon plus a guy from the group you mentioned is a really nice start to the draft. By cutting McCoy you don't really gain anything (unless you keep Ty). So the "Neither" option is off the table. So it's Ty or Shady. This will depend on your league.

Typically, in non-PPR, RBs hold a greater value. Stacking McCoy, Gordon and maybe Fournette (or whoever you choose since that's only 11 spots you accounted for) would be an extremely strong start.

Ty is an alright option but trusting him to put up big numbers in a nonPPR league is dangerous. Plus, all he's likely to be is a Flex. The 8th round has decent options for WRs still (Maclin, Parker, Cobb, Meredith, Tyrell Williams) so I'm not sure how much better Montgomery makes your team.

My vote: Keep McCoy

I would vote to keep McCoy.  That is good for the 13th pick and there is no guarantee Montgomery performs.  I like McCoy over the names you mentioned that would likely make it back to you.

I'd keep McCoy. Value be damned, having a McCoy/Gordon RB combo gives you a pretty big edge over the competition.
