Keeper Question! (1 Viewer)

I play in a 12-man keeper league where we have 2 new owners. These new owners get to select from the player pool after the "veteran" owners have made their keeper selections. We only keep 1 player each year. One of the new owners wants to select a keeper that was not drafted last year and was not on anyone's ending roster at the end of the year. This player is projected to have a great year this year.

There is no specific rule in our Rule Book that states that the new owners cannot select a player that was not on an ending roster. Your thoughts are appreciated.

I think that if there is no rule about it, it is fair game. If owners dont like it after the fact, the rules need to be changed for next year.

For new owners we hold an expansion draft. Simply put, the new owners hold a draft for the players we throw back in the draft from our teams. No free agents. Im pretty sure this is how the NFL conducts their expansion drafts as well.

I would think just because you dont have it written in stone, you cant hold that expansion draft one way or another.

Rookies arent on any of your rosters either, does this mean a new owner can pick up and keep Reggie Bush? Same premise.
