Keiland Williams released....... (1 Viewer)

I think Washington is gonna need him back with Portis all banged up
I just read that he felt a pop in his groin and that he might have aggravated it worse by going back into the game. If it's a tear of the muscle in that area, from what I'm reading it's at least 4 to 6 weeks of rest. If that's the case, then maybe it is best to wait and see if the Skins will re-sign Williams.

WATCH OUT !!!!

The Redskins are expected to sign RB Keiland Williams off their practice squad prior to Sunday's game against the Packers.

Williams promoted from the practice squad per Matt Mosely at ESPN.

ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins on Saturday released receiver Devin Thomas, a 2008 second-round draft pick who failed to impress coach Mike Shanahan.

Thomas was replaced on the roster by running back Keiland Williams, who was promoted from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Williams was promoted because the Redskins were down to two healthy running backs -- Ryan Torain and Chad Simpson -- after Clinton Portis was injured in last week's game. Portis hurt his left groin and is out four to six weeks.

ALL ABOARD THE KW TRAIN!!! :goodposting:

I had all 3 on my roster at one point because the Redskins running game was so uncertain. Now...dropped Portis, Torain gets the start, K. Williams just in case. I hope this works out.

You think it would be worth dropping Spiller for Torain?
No.
God NO. No, No. NO...
Why not? Portis is clearly falling apart, and Torain may get the majority of carries in DC. Spiller has to fight with Lynch and Jackson for carries on a Bills team that may be the worst in the league offensively.I don't see much reason to hold on to Spiller over Torain.
Sorry Babu, never saw this one. I'm not a Torain fan. He seems very brittle to me. He's got some solid running ability and yeah, the Bills' line is as bad if not worse than the Skins' but I still feel Spiller's big play ability outweighs Torain's temporary hold (for now) of a starting gig in the Redskins backfield.Bear in mind I'm probably answering this with a touch of keeper/dynasty flavor in mind but unless I was in dire straits I'd feel similarly in redraft as well.
