From CBS:

News: CBS Sports announcer Ian Eagle, who has met with Browns head coach Romeo Crennel in the last 24 hours, told Senior Fantasy Writer Jamey Eisenberg on Fantasy Football Today that Browns TE Kellen Winslow is expected to be active but not start vs. the Redskins in Week 7. Winslow would be used as "a secondary option," according to Eagle, and see the field only in certain packages. Steve Heiden is expected to start.

There's something fishy about this story, I bet you something shady happened (maybe he's Kellena now) and this whole thing is just a smokescreen.

orangeandbrownreport at scout.com --- Though Winslow is expected to play on Sunday against the Washington Redskins, the Cleveland Browns' offensive scheme will again consist of looks incorporating the blocking abilities and under-appreciated receiving skills of TE's Steve Heiden and Darnell Dinkins. The coaching staff liked the toughness and possibilities the TE's brought to the table in the Browns' victory over the New York Giants.

Nobody has more info?? This sucks for people who have both Winslow and Heiden because this probably makes both players bad starts.

The Browns cleared Kellen Winslow (illness) to play during warmups Sunday and he will face the Redskins.

The Browns also cleared SS Sean Jones (knee), who will start, and deactivated third safety Mike Adams. Winslow was listed behind Steve Heiden on the pre-game depth chart, but he figures to play extensively anyways and is definitely worth using if you've waited this long.

Browns inactives: QB Ken Dorsey (3rd), SS Mike Adams, SS Hamza Abdullah, LB Beau Bell, G Ryan Tucker, G Scott Young, TE Martin Rucker , DE Shaun Smith.

Analysis: TE Kellen Winslow is active, but reports indicate he won’t start. However, he’s still a viable fantasy option against the Redskins.

Nice job stealing news from NFL.com without crediting them. :wall:

Updated. It's the only source I use for posting active/inactive updates and I'm in a hurry doing it.

If someone else would like to do it, go right ahead.

In future I'll either credit nfl.com or if I don't have the time, leave it to someone else.

Since your threads always have a disclaimer/warning in the first post, why not just mention nfl.com in the first post?

There was no quote box in his original post, or else you would have seen 2 quote boxes when I quoted him.

He's right. There wasn't a quote box in the original post and it was remiss of me to not include the source.I have updated all the other threads where i posted the active/inactives and given credit nfl.com

In future I'll just update the header once I have an official source and not post the update in the thread.

That will save me time and if someone wants to post sources in the thread then they are welcome.

My bad on missing that the quote box wasn't originally there.Still, seriously... are you accusing FBGs of stealing (your word) news from NFL.com?

Was it not obvious that the info Andy posted was copied from somewhere and not typed freehand?

I don't get what you were after with your accusation.

Doesn't matter anyway, Andy already said what he'll do to avoid accusations of plagiarism in the future.

I don't get what you were after with your accusation.
Just that FBG staff should cite their sources when posting news.
Stealing is a strong word.As I said, in future I'll update the header with whether a player is active or not.I won't enter text in the thread itself as I don't have the time. All I'm trying to do is help people with definitive news and not opinions.I always have used NFL.com as my source and normally quote as such, but didn't this week due to time issues. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. If you have any further problem, please contact Joe

Andy: First, thanks for your efforts.Second, my condolences with what you have to put up with sometimes.

Was it not obvious that the info Andy posted was copied from somewhere and not typed freehand?
two people questioned andy's post; scooter and myself. it was not obvious.
Read up 1 post.
let's try again. no, it was not obvious, and yes, once again, the source should have been posted. what does andy have to "put up with" exactly? people asking for sources from FBG? just trying to clarify here.

Accusations of stealing information from NFL.com, as well as general pettiness when it was clear the info was from another source and given that Andy usually pulls from NFL.com, that was a pretty safe bet as to where it was from.Instead of arguing with me, PM Joe to complain about this gross omission by Andy.I'm done.

A, don't sweat it. A lot of us appreciate the job you do - I did not think you "stole" the information from anywhere.Has Winslow had any targets?

How was it "clear" that the info was from another source? And how are we supposed to know that Andy usually pulls from NFL.com? Was that fact posted somewhere? And I agree that "stealing" is a strong word.

You've made your point and I've responded. Thanks for calling me a thief.

as a representative of this website, you didn't respond well with this post. i echo scooter's question - for those that aren't aware (chalk me up as one of those too), how was anyone supposed to know that you always quote NFL.com? i didn't agree with the stealing comment, but this was not obvious, and simply questioniong should certainly not get a reaction like that from a staffer for a curious question.

you've sure complained alot today

I'm not usually part of the posting police, but this thread has gone out of control. I'm pretty curious about the status of Winslow (thanks Andy), but the rest of the writing in this thread is complete crap....

I'm closing this thread up, becuase we aren't talking about Kellen Winslows pregame injury news anymore. If you have a problem with how I've dealt with this, please contact Joe.I'm trying to help people with last minute updates and numerous other things at the last minute and forgot to include the fact that I copied from nfl.com.As I've mentioned previously, I apologise for that and it won't happen again.I also apologise if my last comment sounded snappy. Being branded a thief is not something I enjoy.
