I have Johjima as the only catcher on my fantasy roster this year and so far, it is killing me. Not his production, no, that's fine. It is the fact that he is NEVER playing.

So far, 4+ weeks into the season, he has 52 at-bats. Even with his average as high as it is that equals only 17 hits. That is just over 4 hits per week. I wouldn't mind if it was all due to injury, but he has only missed a couple of games due to injury. The rest has been either rain/snow out games or they are just sitting him for whatever reason.

Well, after a minor injury held him out for a couple of games last week.....he has just been held out for the last two Mariners games and I can't find anywhere on the internet an explination as to why. He is a great hitting catcher (I don't know about his defensive ability) and you'd think they would want him in the lineup on a regular basis.

Does anybody know why he didn't play on Sunday or yesterday? It wouldn't be so bad if I knew he wasn't going to play and could pick up a sub for a couple of games, but there is continually no warning on this and I keep starting him and getting zero production out of the catcher position. Yahoo doesn't have any info and the MLB Mariners forum didn't have anything either. Please, anything will help.

TIA

I feel your pain. Sportsline said he was given Sunday off "to rest" (rest from what, I don't know, considering how few games he's played). With Seattle off on Monday, why bother? So, after two days of rest and no reported injury, where was he last night?

EXACTLY!!I can understand all of the other games. There is nothing you can do about the weather and injuries and catchers do need more time off than the other position players, but why last night? He's basically played 2 games in the last week? And no explination given that I can find.

Sportsline is now reporting that he missed yesterday's game with back spasms. He is playing today.
