Kenny Britt Arrested (1 Viewer)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Titans receiver Kenny Britt has two arrest warrants outstanding in Tennessee, and he is suspected of providing inaccurate information on two separate driver's license applications.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol issued the arrest warrants April 14. Spokeswoman Dayla Qualls confirmed Monday to The Associated Press that the THP is investigating an issue on Britt's driver's license applications. Spokesman Don Aaron said Monday the Nashville Police Department has the warrants that allege inaccurate information was provided on the applications.

"Upon his return to Tennessee, it is believed or hoped that he will come surrender himself on these and be served," Aaron said. "If he does not, upon his return to the state he is subject to arrest."

The Tennessean first reported the arrest warrants.

Attorney Jonathan Farmer said Britt will be in Tennessee soon to deal with these warrants, which involve misdemeanor charges.

"We take it seriously, and we want to get it addressed and resolved as quickly as possible," the attorney said. "When he gets back to town, we plan on doing just that."

Britt said last August after being stopped by Nashville police for darkly tinted car windows that he had lost his driver's license, which he later found and forgot to tell state officials.

This is yet another incident with police for the 2009 first-round draft pick out of Rutgers.

He was arrested June 8 in Hoboken, N.J., after two detectives suspected he was carrying a marijuana cigar. Police did not recover the cigar or find any drugs on Britt, who was charged with obstructing the administration of the law, resisting arrest and tampering with or fabricating evidence. He was released and faces a June 16 court date.

That arrest came a day after he pleaded guilty to separate motor vehicle violations related to an April 12 arrest on speeding charges in his hometown of Bayonne. Britt initially faced felony charges before prosecutors dropped them, citing his lack of a criminal record.

Britt also was arrested last year for three outstanding traffic tickets and accused of not paying a bail bond he helped secure for a friend. He was accused of being involved in a bar fight Oct. 22 in Nashville, but authorities later decided not to charge him.

Just a kid out havin' some fun, buy with confidence! :ph34r:Anyways, saw an interesting show about high school football last night (Frontline). In some ways it's surprising these things don't happen a lot more than they do. Well, actually they probably do but they're given every break and protected as much as possible. It's an inevitable result of the big business that is football: basically clueless, unformed, immature kids riding around in Porsches with 100K in jewelry on them. It's OK as long as they can go up and get that pigskin!
In my mind, there's a big difference with getting pulled over for speeding and getting pulled over for speeding after being chased down the road two miles and getting out of the car claiming the car isn't your's (not to mention the weed). There's having fun and serial stupidity/disregard for the law.
:goodposting: usually the reason you keep going is so that you can ditch the drugs....these guys didn't even do that right....fanatsy-wise this shouldn't be too much of a hit to most teams....if you were counting on Britt as a major piece of your WR puzzle, you might have been in a little trouble anyway....I see some of the things other people see and can see how some may think he was ready to turn the corner as a #1 WR but last year 1/3rd of his TD's came in one game, and almost 1/3rd of his total yards came in that same game (Eagles)....he is not a WR1 to bulid around IMO....
yea but how can you make that for a case when the guy missed almost half the year with injury... come on guy
he only DNP in 4 games.....last time I checked that's closer to a quarter of the year than half.....guy

He comes off more as stupid and immature than a criminal. Pacman Jones, Ray Lewis, Vick, now those guys are honest-to-God criminals.

His pull to NJ and the people he knows is literally stronger than "the Force". I grew up in NJ and understand there is a culture there that you "do not leave" (think about it...in 100 years these people managed to move a whopping 30 miles from Ellis Island), but he really needs to separate himself from this kind of stuff. What always blows my mind is that these sports agencies do not seem to have anyone protect their investments. I understand a Drew rosenhaus cannot be with these people 24/7, but are you telling me you have a guy who could make you $1 million on his next deal and you can't find someone for 60k a year, who can babysit him on a daily basis!??!

I wonder if that's against league/agent rules?

I wouldn't think so, but I could see these athletes quickly changing agents if they insist on hiring a babysitter for them.

Double the 60k and get a cool babysitter that can get rid of the body.

the thing is it was probably never "lost" in the first place....somewhere there is prolly a 19 year old gang banger running around clubbing it up as Kenny Britt.....even though his name is very popular here it may not be at most liquor stores and clubs that don't have a machine telling them it ain't valid.....oldest trick in the book.....

Perhaps, but 6 arrests in just a few years? It's not about whether he is as bad as Pacman, it's about whether he is going to help fantasy owners, short and long term.

Britt's charges downgraded:

what a clown:

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt, who has been arrested twice recently in New Jersey, added a string of bizarre Facebook messages, including an announcement he was retiring from the NFL and cursing Commissioner Roger Goodell, to his odd offseason, The Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J., reported.

The uproar started when a post appeared on Britt's social media account reading, "Retiring From the NFL. (Expletive) You Goddell".

About 25 minutes later, that post was retracted, "Change of HEart.. My family is always here for me. I made mistakes and i am sorry i am going to change and become a better person and mentor for all my young fans.. I will accept any penalty like a man.. The road beings Sept 11 in Jacksonville.. ill be ready!!!"

Britt later denied making the statements, saying his account was hacked into, "my facebook was hacked with those past 2 status's.. i am not retiring and do not have any hate toward the commissioner."

This past Thursday, a New Jersey judge downgraded three charges against Britt for offenses stemming from his second recent arrest in the state.

Britt was charged June 8 with resisting arrest and related offenses after being confronted by Hoboken detectives who suspected he was carrying a marijuana cigar. But the charges were downgraded to disorderly-persons offenses and remanded back to Hoboken Municipal Court. A hearing has been scheduled for this coming Thursday.

That made five arrests since October.

Neither Britt nor his representatives responded to requests for comment from The Star-Ledger and The Tennessean, which also reported the Titans also had no comment the situation.

I like how, after three arrests this offseason, it is Goodell's fault. He has been arrested a whopping six times in the 26 months since being drafted.
