Kerry Collins - #### (shut up) (1 Viewer)

Could Kerry Collins #### please? He was a recovering alcoholic who had thrown his NFL career away, when the Giants took him off the scrap heap, worked with him in football and life terms to a point where he is set for life financially while reinventing himself in life and in football terms. So what happens? He is bitter because he wouldnt take a back seat to a young gun who is ALREADY a better QB than Kerry is, when the franchise ressurected this guys career.Way to show how grateful you are Kerry... at least now we Giants fans dont have to remember the positives over the negatives since you have chosen to turn your back on a franchise that may have moved forward in a direction that you did not prefer - but a franchise that always treated its players well with you as a prime example. We can remember you as an ingrate who is also a sack in progress and an intereception waiting to happen.Wow, you can't even use the letters for shut the.... up?

I don't recall him being so bitter. Was there a recent quote of his?
There have been some rumblings in the NY press with the upcoming game. Then, this morning, they had a whole segment on it on Sunday Countdown - Collins himself was interviewed... "yeah, I dont like how they handled it" sorta stuff. He has been this way since the trade - never willing to be a backup, show the guy the ropes. While I understand he wanted to start, at least recognize that without this franchise, your career might never have been revived, certainly not as a starting caliber QB in the NFL.

So this has been going on for a couple years, and to hear from his mouth about "revenge" for the franchise that helped save his career this week was too much already.

Shut the "heck" up already. If you wont be grateful, at least dont be a petty ingrate. Especially when it was not as if you were replaced by a mediocre player - but rather by one of the top young QBs in the league.

At this stage, Collins is better than Manning. :yes:Qb Rating,Collins 75.5Manning 75.1

I disagree. Collins has shown what he is time and time again - and more often than not, that will get your team a loss with a key interception at the worst moment. Put Collins behind a great line and he is very good. Anything less and he can be a disaster.Collins "skills" might be better than Manning's right now, but leadership and playing in the clutch already goes to the kid. I would not trade Manning for Kerry for this one year at all. The future goes without saying, but this year alone, even with his valleys along with the peaks, Manning is the better QB.

Like I said, Collins will kill ya at the worst moment.

However, this is not about Collins vs. Manning. It is about Collins losing the perspective of what the Giants franchise did for him... in doing so, he will erase the brief but (formerly) positive history he built here.

Qb Rating,

Collins 75.5

Manning 75.1
Yes, I am glad Collins has something to prove this week, should be good for one extra TD and one extra INT. In my league that balances out on the positive side so he's a start for me. :D

How about clutch performance? How about leading your team to wins? Heck, how about wins in general? Please, a .4 QB rating discrepency does not tell you anything without context.

Hopefully, today will be similar to a Giants-Cardinals game a few years back when former Big Blue QB Dave Brown told sideline reporters at halftime "I guarantee we beat my former squad".I laughed my butt off when he packed my groceries the week after.

unbelievable, i hope the NFL fines him for that.

 Nothing worthy of a fine here, nor is that what I am calling for. That said, the guy did not exactly handle the situation well himself. A team that resurrects his career needs to get a younger QB who in year 2 is already better than Kerry is, and Kerry acts like he was wronged?

Please.

Well said. Even I had to  at that one.Not to mention that Collins would be picking splinters if Tui didn't suck so badly.
