Kevin Boss--any thoughts? (1 Viewer)

NYG lack a bona fide WR1. Boss seemed to play well last year, at least from what I saw. Anyone think Boss could be a top 10 fantasy TE this year?

I haven't seen much written about him on these forums and there doesn't seem to be a player spotlight on him. I tried a search and it didn't turn up anything, really.

Outside shot at breaking into the top 10.

I haven't seen anything that indicates he'll be a fantasy contributor. He's just not that good. He came out of a small college that only recently moved up from NAIA to Division II. He got lucky when Shockey went down and for some reason the Giants haven't tried very hard to replace him.

55 targets = 24th

33 receptions = 25th

I wouldn't touch him except in deeper leagues.

Hell, he's better than Shockey. That guy is worthless.

Meh. His value is too reliant on TD's. TE15-20 this year. Will be the fantasy waiver wire post 2009.

Beckum is the TE there that if there's going to be a valuable fantasy asset anytime in the future, it'll be him.

Shockey's worst year in New York was better than Boss' best year, and even last year Shockey had more receptions and yards than Boss. I'm just sayin'. :coffee:

I know what Boss did last year. I'm thinking more about this year. No Plaxico, no stud WR brought in = bump for Boss, especially in the endzone?

Boss had better stats when Burress played last year (5.1 ppg) than when Burress didn't play (4.5 ppg). Seems like the offense focused more on the running game once Plaxico was gone, which meant that Boss was utilized more for blocking.

Manning tends to use Boss as a check down and 3rd down option during games. Without the threat of Burress and until other WRs step up and make themselves viable options, he will get more attention then in the past, making it tough for him to get numbers.

:own3d: Maybe you are a bitter Giants fan. To say Boss is better than Shockey not only is silly its just plain wrong.
