Kevin Boss Going Forward (1 Viewer)

Is Kevin Boss' performance over the past 3 weeks a sign that he is breaking out this season as a solid TE for the FFL playoffs or will he return to just a few catches a game with only an occasional TD.

When I lost Own Daniels a few weeks ago, I was scrambling around the waiver wire and picked up an abundance of TEs to see who might pan out. Picked Kevin Boss to tide me over in the short run, and Jermichael Finley and James Casey as potential stars when/if they got healthy.

Much to my surprise, Boss -- the guy I was picking up just to tide me over -- has turned in very good FFL numbers over the past three weeks -- coming through with 4 TDs over 3 weeks and at least 70 yards receiving 2 of those 3 weeks. I still have Casey and Finley on my bench and am going to see how they do the next two weeks before dropping one of my TEs before the FFL playoffs.

A few weeks ago, I would have said for sure that I would go into the FFL playoffs with either Finley or Casey as a risky TE start capable of big games, but now I'm wondering if Boss will be the man. WHat do you guys know about him...will he keep this up?

I would say if other teams play him the way the Falcons did, he'll put up 75 plus with a TD or two.

Honestly, on most of his catches, he was so open it was hard to tell who supposedly had the coverage.

He did make a great move on the sideline of his 2nd TD to elude a DB and then bulled his way in past a few other guys.

Eli had a career high day (380+), and looked sharper than he has for about 6-7 weeks. Not sure that will become a trend.

He's an OK option but I do not see him being featured. KG spread it around pretty thin today; Mario had the deep routes, but everyone was involved.

As a Giants fan, and homer... it's hard to predict stats for any offensive player on any given week. It's week 11 and I can't even put my finger on the identity of my team... they're not sure if they're run first, pass first... their offense is completely erratic. Boss is very solid and I can see him as a red zone target considering his size...

this. I picked up boss in 3 of my leagues, believing I got some of the best value in the draft, getting him in the double digit rounds. His early performance was practically non existent. Like 3 targets for 1 catch, 19 yards stuff. At this stage, all teh young wrs were going nuts. Now, SS is still getting tons of targets and lots of receptions, but the TDs have slowed. THe rest of teh gang, its anyone's guess. I wouldn't classify it so much as erratic as I would Eli looks for the open guy. So on any given week, Boss might go 6 for 100 and 2 tds, or 1 for 14. All depends on the D. Not an elite consistent TE, but if you've got garbage to begin with, and he's sitting on the WW, might be worth plugging in. ALso to factor is the weather in the meadowlands come the december month. Lots of wind, lots of running, meaning he might be doing lots of blocking...

Boss has great hands, is reliable over the middle, runs good routes, and puts his body on the line for every ball.

He is young (25) and if the Giants continue to up his targets he will be a more consistent guy going forward in dynasty. He is a good blocker and that is part of the reason he does not see as many targets as he could. He is averaging 4 targets a game on the season, which makes him a very risky fantasy start. And up until week 8 he had not had over 5 targets in any game. Now in the last 3 weeks he had 8 targets, than 3, and than 9. So maybe just maybe he will start to be featured a little more.

Also, this guy is as tough as it gets. He has been absolutely drilled on a few plays yet he hangs onto the ball. He is an underrated NFL guy and what he brings to the Giants is extremely important.
