Probably a honda, but I don't really care.
I see him starting by week 2. 1800 total yards and 15 touchdowns.

Probably a honda, but I don't really care. I see him starting by week 2. 1800 total yards and 15 touchdowns.I wish, I took him with my last pick Saturday, but I'm not expecting him to play until week 8. Even if he were completely healthy he wouldn't put up those numbers...you're fishing.
How do you figure. Last year he played 11 1/2 games. Had over 1200 yards and 8 touchdowns. The offensive and O-line will both be upgraded. He has as much of a shot to finish top 5 as Gore, LJ, or FWP.Probably a honda, but I don't really care. Supposed to be maybe, but then you keep seeing stuff like this:Probably a honda, but I don't really care.

Wasnt he supposed to be going on the PUP list until week 6?
Martz 'optimistic' RB Jones will play in Lions opener

Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz is optimistic running back Kevin Jones will return for the regular-season opener Sept. 9 at Oakland.
"I think we're all optimistic about that," Martz said Wednesday. "I think Kevin is, too. We'll see. It doesn't mean he is. He's making good progress, and we're all anxious to have him back."

Jones is on the physically unable to perform list with a foot injury. Asked when Jones would have to start practicing to be ready, Martz said:
"I don't know. You can't plan this stuff. You just cannot plan it. What (we) have to do is wait. When you get him back, then you take it one step at a time, because as soon as you start making these plans, these plans always get broken."...
Based on the literal definition of the word "upside", then that would be his upside. Realistically speaking I highly doubt that he gets anything close to that. Even if he is healthy enough to play from week 1 (which is still a big if), he will brought along slowly and will share a lot of carries with Bell and Duckett depending on the situation.Probably a honda, but I don't really care. I see him starting by week 2. 1800 total yards and 15 touchdowns.
He has 1982 total yards and 13 TDs over the last two seasons. He's now coming off a lisfranc injury, has not fully practiced yet, and you're projecting his best season to date?Probably a honda, but I don't really care. I see him starting by week 2. 1800 total yards and 15 touchdowns.
How's he any different than someone like Frank Gore?He has 1982 total yards and 13 TDs over the last two seasons. He's now coming off a lisfranc injury, has not fully practiced yet, and you're projecting his best season to date?Probably a honda, but I don't really care. LMAO.upside? being able to walk without crutches at year-end.
Sharing time = rested and motivated. Being the sole starter equals carrying the workload. TBell also is an injury/nick-nack magnet... he got an increased workload and got hurt as well too.Bell had 2 TDs on 233 carries, Jones had 6 on 181 carries. Bell fumbles once every 70 carries, while Jones once every 100 carries. Jones caught 61 balls vs 24 balls in about the same amount of work last year. I guess I'm saying they aren't too far apart besides YPR... but any Denver RB should average high yardage. Mike Bell as a rookie went for 4.3... What's more interesting from a fantasy standpoint... is how Detroit opens up the season....At Oakland (11th in YPC last year), a slightly improved DMinnesota (1st " " " ")At Philly (not a great run D, but it is in Philly)Chicago (nuff said)At Washington (high YPR, but 5th in the league in rushing TDs surrendered... at Washington too)Tampa Bay (top 10 run D)At Chicago (nuff said again)Denver (very respectable run D, but at home and Tatum should be motivated)So there's the first 8 games, not setup well for Tatum. Me thinks they'll be longing for KJones (whether justified or not)... especially given the receiving element he brought. Also brings to mind how excited everyone is fantasy-wise about the Lions, there's some improvement across the board, and explosive as this offense was , and will be next year. Which may be fine and dandy, but mix the tougher schedule, and the fact that they won't get as much garbage points, games will be tighter more conservative. 4 of those 8 games than can win, throw in an upset or two... amidst lower scoring outcomes (perhaps bodes well for Tatum) and I don't see Kitna Case in point, how the Lions led the league on 4th down attempts, much perhaps due to nothing to lose. I find it a bit precarious when I see the "Kitna dropped to me in the 7th round" rhetoric. Ahead of Romo, Rivers, and slew of others. To me he should be well back with that pack.I was planning on doing a poll on who would be the starting Detroit RB towards the end of the season when I saw this thread. I didn't want to make another KJ/Tbell thread. I personally think this will be RBBC. TBell could be useful early in the season if KJ is on the PUP list. But why do people love KJ so much? The last three years as a starter, he has about 3000 yards, 19 TDs, a 4.1 YPC with 3.7 YPC the last year two years. TBell, in three years of splitting time has about 2600 yds, 13 TDs, and a 5.0 YPC. I know Detroit's running game is not Denver's, but the offense should suit Bell better. The more I look at this, the more I like Bell.
Top 10 PPG second half of the season.
That's not a projection...that's his upside.videoguy505 said:LHUCKS said:Top 10 PPG second half of the season.![]()
I'm sorry . . .I sure hope the glass half full guys are right! In my Dynasty league, I just traded Norwood for KJ and Grossman.Vick owner
I'm not, I'm listening to ya, Tony.I can't believe people are giving Kevin Jones away in dynasty leagues.
Well, for starters, Gore already has a season of 1800+ yards. Also, Gore also has a season of 16 games. Jones has neither of those things in his career. Gore also has a higher y/c, and y/r. Gore also has a season appearing in the top ten in rushes, yards, and yards from scrimmage. Again, Jones has none of those things.Did you draw Gore's name out of a hat for this comparison?Steve Polychronopolous said:How's he any different than someone like Frank Gore?Bull Dozier said:He has 1982 total yards and 13 TDs over the last two seasons. Exactly, all that happened after an injured plagued 2005, which ended with him having both shoulders surgical repaired. Now tell me how KJ this year is any worse than Gore last year.Well, for starters, Gore already has a season of 1800+ yards. Also, Gore also has a season of 16 games. I can; again folks, he's not that good . . .I can't believe people are giving Kevin Jones away in dynasty leagues.
Gore is simply the better RB. 5.4 a carry is no accident.Exactly, all that happened after an injured plagued 2005, which ended with him having both shoulders surgical repaired. I agree, Gore's a stud, but he clearly benefits from having one of the 3 best O-lines in the league. My point isn't that Gore isn't a star (he is), my point is KJ has the tools, and the supporting cast to also be one.Gore is simply the better RB. 5.4 a carry is no accident.Exactly, all that happened after an injured plagued 2005, which ended with him having both shoulders surgical repaired. got him for Bernard Berrian straight up. I can see people being worried over the injury but the talk of "he's just not that good" I dont getI can't believe people are giving Kevin Jones away in dynasty leagues.
Tell that to Jamal Lewis and Ahman Green. It was an impressive season, but don't expect those kinds of numbers again.Gore is simply the better RB. 5.4 a carry is no accident.
Lewis went to jail and Ahman Green got hurt, a little differentTell that to Jamal Lewis and Ahman Green. It was an impressive season, but don't expect those kinds of numbers again.Gore is simply the better RB. 5.4 a carry is no accident.
Lewis had one season of 5.3 ypc; before and after, he has not done better than 4.4 ypc (and has been below 4.0 ypc the last two years).Green had one season of 5.3 ypc; outside of his 35-carry rookie season, he has not done better than 4.6 ypc, including in the year following the 5.3 ypc season, where he played 15 games and finished with 4.5 ypc. One season is one season. If Gore repeats his 5.4 ypc season, he'll be the first back to do so, ever. Don't bet on it.Lewis went to jail and Ahman Green got hurt, a little differentTell that to Jamal Lewis and Ahman Green. I for one haven't. The offers I have received are people really trying to low ball. I hope he sits out all year if needed to fully recover. He is in no way in danger of losing his job to Tater!I can't believe people are giving Kevin Jones away in dynasty leagues.
Proof?I can; again folks, he's not that good . . .I can't believe people are giving Kevin Jones away in dynasty leagues.
If that is the case,,SJax and KJ are in a dead heat right now.Probably a honda, but I don't really care. I see him starting by week 2. 1800 total yards and 15 touchdowns.
You are predicting SJax to have 500 less total yards than he did last year?If that is the case,,SJax and KJ are in a dead heat right now.Probably a honda, but I don't really care. I see him starting by week 2. 1800 total yards and 15 touchdowns.

I personally can't see Calhoun doing anything. He was not impressive last week. I think he is going to get more looks this week, so he still has a chance to make the team. While we're on the Detroit/KJ subject, anyone see Calhoun as a guy that could do well if Jones is out? From what I saw of him in college, he could easily give Bell a run.
That's a big BUT. Denver has had arguably the best offensive line and Detroit arguably the worst. I don't know about KJ's health, but I definitely do not see Tatum Bell being a long term star in Detroit. As for being a better fit, KJ was one of the best receiving backs last year and Bell has never been very good at catching the ball--an important skill in the Martz offense.I was planning on doing a poll on who would be the starting Detroit RB towards the end of the season when I saw this thread. I didn't want to make another KJ/Tbell thread. I personally think this will be RBBC. TBell could be useful early in the season if KJ is on the PUP list. But why do people love KJ so much? Going off of memory, Gore was recovered from surgery and practicing full speed at this point last year. That is just a slight difference.Exactly, all that happened after an injured plagued 2005, which ended with him having both shoulders surgical repaired. Calhoun looked small and slow on Saturaday. Not a good combo..another wasted pick by Millen.I personally can't see Calhoun doing anything. He was not impressive last week.
