I'm curious to see how this one ends up going.  If you have more than one kid and more than one answer, you can vote for more than one.  And, if answering other, go ahead and post what it is.

I haven't worn/had a jersey since I was actually on a team (high school), and I wouldn't even consider having one now.

my daughter participates, doesn't follow.

ETA: when I was a kid, the only jersey I ever wanted was Philadelphia Flyers #16, with the "C" - Bobby Clarke

we are a hockey family. I play, my kids play, we follow the islanders and (use to) go to games often.

They all own isles jerseys that we wear to games. I have no interest in wearing a jersey otherwise, but my kids wear them to school from time to time.

My son and I also own a Blackhawks jersey each b/c my aunt lives there and she ave them to us as gifts (she's not a sportsfan, so she doesn't realize the fandom aliegences). The reason she bought me mine (Duncan Keith) is b/c my fist name is Keith, so she thought it was cute.

Other we own is a Leetch olympic jersey that I had him sign a few years ago, and an official (fight strap) Ed Balfour Dallas stars jersey (eddy was one of my fav goalies) that I got back in college. It was so GD expensive that I just can't part with it. I know someone who knows him, so I may see about getting it autographed one day and then have it framed.

Two boys, both love basketball and watch college mainly, but we start watching NBA a lot after the NCAA tourney.  The younger one also loves college football and watches that a lot.  The older one tolerates NFL games with me, but is a huge Jets fan.

None of us are jersey wearers.  The kids have been given baseball and football jerseys, but never wear them.

I remember when I was a kid, I would wear the jersey for my little league team, or my football team all the time.  They would be my favorite shirts once the season is over.  Kids today have even nicer jerseys to wear, but my kids don't touch them once the season is over.

my son loves sports.  we often find him watching a soccer game between 2 teams i've never heard of or a college football game between 2 tiny schools.  i voted soccer, football and basketball for him watching, although he does watch some hockey and baseball as well, just not as religiously, and typically only for Philly.  those other sports he'll watch anyone who's playing.

he owns at least 3 soccer jerseys.  1 is for the Union, the other 2 (or more) are for some of his favorite world players (messi, renaldo).  he has 3 football jerseys currently.  a mccoy eagles, a wilson seahawks and a gronk jersey.  for gifts, he is always asking for jerseys of players he likes.  he owns 1 basketball jersey and that's steph curry.

i was only going with "jersey" but he owns a dozen or so t-shirts for football, soccer, baseball, and hockey.

Sounds like my 9-year old son.  Whatever he wears to school is sports related, whether a jersey or a shirt.  Soccer and football are his favorite, but he's starting to watch more baseball and basketball.  Kid just can't get enough...  and I love it!

Regarding what I wear, I have a ton of Steelers stuff.  I have way more than my friends that actually live in Pittsburgh and they've noted it numerous times.  We decided that because I live in Colorado, I need to represent my team, therefore the need for me to have so much B&G crap.  But it's pretty much assumed that if you live there you're a fan, so you don't need to buy a bunch of stuff to prove it.

Daughter loves sports and is pretty good but has no interest in watching.   She'll ask if the Flyers won or phillies etc but won't sit and watch.

She does have tshirts for all the teams I follow.

When asked what hockey means to him, my 6 year old says Hockey is my life

I have grown to love the game as a direct result of his love for it. I always followed and was a fan, but we now go to games all the time since we split season tickets with my BIL

He owns an Islanders jersey, multiple Rangers jerseys,a blackhawks jersey, an ODB, Tanaka and Neymar

I own a bunch of jerseys including Metrostars, Redbulls, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Eli Manning, Chris Kreider, used to wear a Cally Winter Classic, Jeter

My daughter watches The Orioles with me and has a jersey. She roots for the Ravens but doesn't really watch them although if they play on Monday night she might sit for a quarter or two.

She has a Ravens jersey as well. As for my self, I have a generic Orioles Jersey(no name on it) that I'll break out every now and then to wear to a game. I have at least 4 Ravens jerseys of players that are no longer on the team. I'm done with jerseys for myself now.

Wearing another man's jersey has always seemed an odd concept to me.

we park our cars in the same garage
two guys one parking spot?

my kids almost never watch sports on TV unless it's the Olympics or Jayhawks basketball. None of us wear pro jerseys although I still own my Paul Coffey Red Wings jersey (grew up in Motown, but liked Coffey even when he was an Oiler and Penguin).

My son is six and doesn't care about sports yet. He is all about action figures, Godzilla and superhero movies.
