KING FELIX - hurt (1 Viewer)

Ouch. I was mad at myself for passing on this guy this year. The anouncers are saying that they won't be able to tell us hat the problem is unless the King lets them because of HIPPA.

Rotoworld:

Felix Hernandez left Wednesday's game in the first inning with an undisclosed injury.

There was no obvious injury. Hernandez was struggling with his command, and the first three batters reached against him before he took himself out. Everyone who likes baseball should be hoping it not an arm problem. Apr. 18 - 10:25 pm et

Announcers said it looked like his back

Could this be because he pitched a complete game last start and just needs a little more rest? Or is this a more serious problem likely landing him on the DL?

forgive Mariner fans for being so pessimistic. Their track record with pitching injury is absolutely horrific.

announcers just said "elbow tightness"
i don't own Felix in any lead, but I really hate to see this. I thought this guy was the next great, GREAT one.
Fantasy players always see the glass as half empty. This could be nothing serious.
Maybe. But "elbow tightness" isn't exactly the best news in the world when talking about a pitcher. PLEASE let it be nothing, but you should always be concerned when a pitcher leaves a game because of his sore elbow.

Francisco Liriano had elbow 'tightness' :D   please let it just be that time of month oh baseball gods
Liriano had a pre-existing ulnar nerve tear so his "tightness" was a lot more ominous. That's not to say this is nothing but it doesn't mean doom and gloom yet.

You know I go from riches to rags.....

Way overspent on my pitching budget to get Cliff Lee, Chris Carpenter, Felix Hernandez and BJ Ryan.

At least Lee is coming back shortly. In the mean time I have to hope Daniel Cabrera, Chris Ray, Vincente Padilla and John Lackey hold down the fort.

In other words...I'm screwed.

Good news for King Felix owners IMO.

Felix Hernandez, SP SEA

News: Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez will likely miss two to three starts with a muscle strain inside his right elbow and forearm. Mariners medical director Dr. Ed Khalfayan said Thursday that the 21-year-old right-hander will not throw for five days, then will play catch. "I think 10 to 20 days is a reasonable estimate," Khalfayan said when asked when Hernandez might again pitch in a game. That's as good a news as you can get from an elbow injury."

Analysis: If Hernandez continued to pitch with the strain, he could have stressed elbow so severely he would have required elbow-ligament replacement surgery. Luckily, he caught the injury early in his start Wednesday. "This is a very common pitcher injury," Khalfayan said. "Felix's injury is minor. We are optimistic he won't miss too much time." Fantasy owners are unfortunately going to have to keep Hernandez out of active Fantasy lineups for a few weeks. He was one of the game's best pitchers to open the season and hopefully he will be able to regain that form when he returns.
