Update:

Felix Hernandez was diagnosed with a sprained ankle after Carlos Beltran slid into him during Monday's game.

We might have a better idea after the game whether he'll miss any starts with the injury. The Mariners are already shorthanded in the rotation with Erik Bedard expected to miss his next start, so Rich Dorman could be called up. Jun. 23 - 9:31 pm et

Beltran was taking off at full speed before Felix's foot was even on the plate (see 0:30-0:31). As the Baseball Tonight commentators unanimously pointed out: it was a clean slide and it happened in a split second.

Why would Beltran purposly cleat him? That doesnt make much sense. Did he show up Santana after his grand slam? Doesnt make sense for Beltran to go after a pitcher on a last place team who isnt even in his league. Doesn't seem in character for Beltran either.
