Kitchen Re-Modeling (1 Viewer)

I am in the beginning stages of Kitchen Re-Modeling, and am looking for advice on meshing the colors together. For example, I'm not sure what color to paint the kitchen

Would welome ideas and suggestions!

I am keeping my brown (light/medium) in color, and having them polished/hardward added, and I am thinking of a an Oak wide panel (at least 3"). I prefer a darker wood so was thinking of these as options (although finding them in stock, and at an affordable price is a challenge):

Wood Options:

Reston Red Oak (no link)

Mayflower ¾” x 5” Coffee Oak Cabin Wirebrush

Over 1000 s.f. $3.99/sq. ft.

Granite:

Was leaning towards a darker granite counter top, Aboslute Black was one option (still working through) this.

Backsplashes: Still deciding, but here's a few that I sort of liked:

Gobi Amalfi

Paint:

No idea at this point what a nice color to go with a black (darker) granite, brown cabinets and the backsplashes mentioned.

Didn't open all the links, but in general dark chocolate brown cabinets and black granite countertops is not a good look. Will make your kitchen seem very heavy.

Decide first on what is most important to you and start planning around that....is having dark chocolate brown cabinetry your first priority or is having black countertops more important to you?

My cabinets are light/medium brown.

My kitchen is a pretty deep brown, but we have a light countertop and white cabinets to offset the color. Your best bet is if your walls are lightly colored, make your cabinets a similar shade, and go with the dark countertop.

We are in the process of this as well. Due to the ridiculous cost of custom cabinetry, we are keeping our cabinets as is (10 years old). They are a medium oak. We went with black pearl granite counter tops. We are now looking at back splashes.

My rule of thumb is to alternate dark and light. Dark floor, light cabs, medium to darker counters, then splash of color in backsplash. Many people fall into picking everything in a similar beige or brown or gray range. You want contrast to provide depth and interest.

Often, the flooring or granite will have 2-4 different tones in it. Use that.

It sounds like our kitchens may have some similarities - your cabinets are probably a little darker than mine, but mine are in excellent shape so I'm going to leave them and just add hardware.

What color is your kitchen going to be?

dark cabinets, light colored walls

white countertop with silver flakes

silver cabinet knobs

silver appliances

Here's a pic we recently took for the kitchen remodel.

We're only replacing the counter tops, sink, and faucet. Maybe new appliances. Maybe paint (color suggestions?).

Are the wood links you have above for the floors?
Yes. I want wide slot width of 3.25" or above, but no more than 5". I do need to order soon to start things on time (early July) since it takes 7-10 days typically if they have what I'm looking for in stock, but not in the store. My guy may be able to find what I'm looking for as well, but it's just difficult to find options that are in stock, etc. AND on sale, which is ideal obviously.

Can you find something online that gives a good color represenation of what your cabinet light/medium color looks like?

I would say the colors of my cabinets are close to these top cabinets:
