Good Luck Gary! We will miss you! Here is a link to the press briefing of America's worst kept secret.

He's trying to pry the Denver O-Line coach Rick Dennison away as his "offensive coordinator," but since Kubes will be calling the plays, Dennison would be primarily responsible for the trenches. Of course, he's under contract with DEN, so it's up to Shanahan to let him take the promotion elsewhere or not.At the very least, according to the Chronicle, he's looking at David Diaz-Infante, a former lineman in the scheme to come in as asst. offensive line coach. This article also mentions the Dennison stuff. By all accounts, this staff will be "Broncos south."Heard his presser today. Pretty impresive guy. You gotta think he will find ways to maximize the potential of Carr and A.J. Add Bush into the mix and who knows!
I'm wondering if you guys think he's going to have his offensive line employ the cut-blocking scheme they used in Denver. Alex Gibbs was the Frankenstein behind it all, so he's going to have to get an OL coach who is familiar with it.
Nice post.I didn't think teams could stand in the way of a coach who is offered a promotion from another team. Lateral moves don't count, of course, but I thought in the event of a promotion, they had to offer the same position or let him go.He's trying to pry the Denver O-Line coach Rick Dennison away as his "offensive coordinator," but since Kubes will be calling the plays, Dennison would be primarily responsible for the trenches. My understanding is that a team can block any interviews except for head coaching gigs.Nice post.I didn't think teams could stand in the way of a coach who is offered a promotion from another team. Cowher was asked this week about the speculation surrounding Oakland's interest in his OC. He said that he "wouldn't stand in his way" if Ken Whiz wanted to take the job.Could he stand in his way???My understanding is that a team can block any interviews except for head coaching gigs.Nice post.I didn't think teams could stand in the way of a coach who is offered a promotion from another team. I believe the only thing that could happen is that Cowher would not allow the interview during Superbowl prep, but could not totally block an interview. IIRC, the rule is that playoff teams CAN allow thier assistants to interview during a bye week, but do not have to. Overall, the NFL has made the whole process a little more complicated than it needs to be.Cowher was asked this week about the speculation surrounding Oakland's interest in his OC. Your question was answered already, but Cowher would be understandably comfortable if Ken Whiz was hired away because he's got Russ Grimm ready to be a OC on his staff.Cowher was asked this week about the speculation surrounding Oakland's interest in his OC. Carr definitely has talent, he only needs a better line to be more of a productive QB....when you consider that D Davis has torn it up playing behind perhaps the worst line in football , it stands to reason that Bush or Davis would/should become BIG TIME players in 2006 with a solid line and cut-block techniques..Alex Gibbs, former DEN and ATL OL coach has been contacted about following Kubiak to Houston. Kubes wants Gibbs to "train" Diaz-Infante for a couple of years. Whether this happens or not has yet to be seen. But it would be a smart move. Both DEN and ATL have had some of the top rushing lines in the NFL. I know we need pass blocking.....but you gotta start somewhere.
And a buddy of mine that lives in DEN has reported to me that Tom Nalen, OL for the Broncos is a free agent. Rumor is that the Broncs will have cap problems and Nalen could be a casualty. It's too early to start rumors, but he thinks Nalen will be following Kubiak to Houston. A 5 time Pro Bowler........now that's what I'm talking about. It would be a nice start to upgrading that line for Carr, Dom and Reggie.
Actually, they're the worst pass-blocking line in football. They're adequate run-blockers. Dom Davis definitely deserves credit for making due, but they're markedly better at the run than the pass.Carr definitely has talent, he only needs a better line to be more of a productive QB....when you consider that D Davis has torn it up playing behind perhaps the worst line in football , it stands to reason that Bush or Davis would/should become BIG TIME players in 2006 with a solid line and cut-block techniques..
