Kurt Warner - played.. and played well. (1 Viewer)

I was very surprised with Warners performance today. I give him mad props for playing with robo-armor. And then at that.. on his early interception the guy sprinted his butt over there to try and make the tackle!? Of course he got ran over.

That said... I don't know what to do with him. I've got a stash of QBs.. Hasselbeck, Rivers, Griese, and Warner. I'm sure someone else is having to depend on him. But, curious to know of peoples assesment given that he went out and played today. Bittersweet... because it's just like having a ticking timebomb strapped to an apple pie.

But, again... given all factors. Here's to an A+ performance. :wall:

considering he was going against Washington, I thought he looked pretty decent. He didn't melt down after any of his turnovers.

First lets call him a warrior

Second...if he stays on the field(fingers crossed)with these games ahead he is fantasy gold....

Doesn't surprise me at all. Typical Warner performance;

2 TD

2 INT(one for a TD for the other team)

1 FumL

Cards lose

Warner puts up meaningless yards, scores mad fantasy stats because he doesn't get punished for his TO's(which likely cost ARZ a close game). Fantasy people give Warner an A+. FF scoring is awesome.

Don't forget... that's a very good Redskins defense. Rackers missed an Extra point, then a game winning field goal, and the team missed go for 2 play that was a stupid RB pass. So... I don't know.. fantasy aside, the guy put the team in a position to win.

Ugh. Ok, then what's his excuse for the last three years? It's pretty much the same story every year. More TO's than TD's yet he puts up solid FF #'s while burying the chances of any real football team he's playing for. Technically, he contributed to FOUR TO's this week because on 4&2 he completes a 1 yard pass to a WR. I almost give him a little credit for creativity on that one, it can't be easy to complete a 1 yard pass to a WR to turn the ball over when you only need 2.You're hoping for a 2td - 1int ratio. "The guy put the team in a position to win". No, he put his team in a position to overcome his carelessness with the ball. Four TO's one of which directly led to a defensive TD???? ARZ very easily could have won that game. The ARZ denfese played great and would have looked even better if Warner hadn't put them behind the 8-ball all day.He only gets "credit" for 3 TO's but they lead to 14 WAS points if you ignore the fact that one of them was on the WAS 10. All four of the real TO's took place in WAS territory. How many potential points did he take off the board? Yeah.... two points for INT is about right. Ridiculous.

Does anyone listen to that "injury guru" chick on the espn podcast? She's like the most diplomatic, politically correct woman ever & she basically said Warner is a drama queen.

I'm not arguing the guys career here... Superbowl aside. I'm curious to know what he can do this year.. and so far he has value worth looking at. The team is competitive in the division... and unless you're suggesting they have a better chance to win with another option.. I don't know what to argue. The guy played good. This Arizona team is built and matured better than previous versions. I mean, what did Edge do last year with that OL???? Having played QB all the way up to the Div I level before flaming out... My experience taught me to expect to get pummeled before, during, and after every play. I'm giving him some credit for stepping in there. I honestly expected a blood bath.

What if before the game started I told you the ARZ defense was going to hold the WAS offense to;9 first down4-12 3rd down conversions73 net yards rushing87 net yards passingWould you still think it was a blood bath? The ARZ defense won the game. Warner found a way to overcome that great performence. If Warner can get a FG from from the 10 yard line or doesn't throw a TD to a defender ARZ wins the game. BTW Warner scored ~19 points in most of my leagues depspite playing a bad game that cost his team the game, so yeah he's a solid fantasy start which is more an incitement of fantasy football scoring than a reflection of how Warner played. If your point is Warner is better than any FA QB they could get at this point of the season your probably right, but ARZ doesn't have any hope with Warner either. If this game doesn't point that out I don't know what will.

If there's any kind of pass rush on him at all in his injured condition, Warner is a sitting duck. The rush on him today was minimal.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I do think it was a surprising performance. If I was DC for Washington my guys would have ripped his arm off and shoved it up his proverbial ####. I don't remember seeing a sack... so, I think what he could do for them has remained to be seen... and with the current state I've got to think expectations should be tempered. So I'll conceed that he didn't win the game for them... and might of lost it.

But, more importantly.. from a fantasy stand point where does the man figure in this year? I would have liked to see him get lit up really good and keep up the performance.

Guys - there is a reason the pass rush was minimal. The Cards offensive line is playing pretty well. They haven't given up many sacks this season and rank very high in that category. Warner will be fine.

The Redskins front four are not exactly the best rushes in the NFL, in fact they are among the worst.
