Kurt Warner this week @SEA (1 Viewer)

In week 14 of 2007 he was sacked five times and threw 5 picks at Seattle. He was missing Boldin but managed to throw TDs to Johnson, Fitz, and Urban so 3 TDs and 337 yards. Warner is the number one QB in the rankings this week. Seattle is a very tough and loud venue to play in but the Seahawks are without Kerney this week (shoulder). From what I can tell the secondary is still pretty healthy and there are some younger active guys up front who might be able to step up. Without Kerneyand his 3 sacks can the Seattle defense make history repeat itself? Trufant had three picks by himself on Warner last year in this game and you have to think that the whole team will be re-energized from seeing Hass and Branch back on the field. Does this also contribute to the ranking because more points will be scored by Seattle?

Very possible Warner could have a bad game and throw 2-3 picks, but even then he'll still get his 275yds and 2td, unless he gets hurt.

My other options are Delhomme vs Detroit and Rodgers vs Chicago. I'm still sticking with Warner.

I'm just not sure who you'd bench Warner for at this point. Brees@KC and PManning-vs-HOU are probably the only guys I'd start ahead of Warner this week.

What about Cutler @ ATL? Denver's running game is a MESS and they could easily be playing from behind. I'm thinking of going that route this week.

This is clearly not last year, last I checked.
 They were making a bid deal on Monday night about all of the things Kurt improved on from last year to make himself more vaulable this year.He has made conscious efforts in his technique and even equipment (now uses new gloves every game) to cut down on his turnovers. His reads are quicker and the decisions are made sooner in the progression than he used to.And Seattle is a shell of the team it was last year.

Seattle is DEFINITELY a shell of it's 2007 self, and they weren't great then. Also, Kurt's O-Line is giving him ALL DAY LONG this year, almost every play. Sure, he's still as elusive as a bag of rocks...but defenses aren't getting to him like they had the past few years. This o-line is STL superbowl style O-Line...complete with a perfect pocket, and large passing lanes.

People mentioned the great receivers he has, and there is no doubt that it has helped. But the key, in my opinion, is the o-line. Warner has had trouble in the past when the line couldn't protect him, and so he was sacked and fumbled, and threw picks. But if you give him time to strike, he is as accurate as a cobra.

I have to choose between P. Manning and Warner this week. I have not made up my mind yet. Good matchups either way. Warner does seem to have the better matchup though.

I personally think Rivers looks pretty good. Malcolm Floyd has looked good and there's still Jackson and Gates and LT to throw to against a PIT secondary that is lacking two of its top 3 corners and had to sign F. Bryant off the street.

I saw that game against SEA and Warner was trying to put the team on his shoulders and it just didn't work out. The team got behind a bunch early, and they became one dimensional. Trying to make up for lost ground, Kurt was throwing the ball into very tight coverages to make something happen.. sort of like Favre for much of 2005. Also, one of the picks was a desperation throw at the end of the game. (Here's the play-by-play, http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/playbyplay?g...6&period=4). He also had a fumble lost in that game as I recall.

Anyways, from watching the game, most of the picks if not all of them were not due to Kurt making dumb choices; they were just high-risk high reward type throws. I don't think that dynamic will repeat itself this week. I would start Kurt with confidence.

I don't think I'd start ANY QB over Warner right now. What QB has 3 better WRs to throw to in the league? I'll take Fitz, Boldin, and Breaston over ANY trio.

I have to choose between Brees and Warner as well. I have only started Warner once all year during Brees' bye. Think I might go for Warner this week but I am having serious doubts.

Don't you people have holes to fill elsewhere on your team, or are these no-trade leagues?

Hell I'll take Boldin and Fitz OVER ANY TRIO OUT THERE! Breaston is just icing on the cake.

Who's to say these aren't his only 2 viable QBs and he likes the redundancy?I know that I prefer to have 3 QBs on a team I can go with only because injuries at the position happen so quickly. :goodposting:

I'd start Cutler or Brees depending on matchups. The quadrant of Marshall, Royal, Stokely and Scheffler are a close second (but you need all four of them vs. the AZ trio). It also helps that Cutler doesn't have a running game at all right now. 3rd and short? pass. Goalline? pass. They'll only try to run on 1st or 2nd down and only enough to keep defenses out of dime packages. And Brees has better stats with only a bunch of table scraps to throw to for much of the year. Wait until he gets Bush & Colston both back to full speed (and maybe even Shockey).

The HUGE diffrence this game from that is.....

Last year Kerny totally abused Jones for about 4 sacks and was in Warners face pretty much that whole game.

Fast Foward

Jones is no longer a rookie and Kerny is not playing.
