Any thoughts on taking the deal proposed below, and/or something else that you feel is better?

Everyone except me seemed to be drafting based on 1-QB player rankings, and so I jumped on Hurts and Allen with my first 2 picks at position 8.
In retrospect, if I had realized how long everyone else would wait on their QBs, I would only have taken one of them with my first 2 picks, but at the time, didn’t want to be on the backside of a QB run 16 picks later.
So, along with this I quickly found myself on the “LATE” side of the “great or late” TE draft philosophy, with many teams drafting 2 TEs at what I still contend to be strong “reaches’.

So I have Goedert today, and considering trading for Kyle Pitts, who is a backup on another team (they have LaPorta as their starter).
I like that Pitts has multiple upsides; less competition for receptions, better QB and OC,
I don’t like Pitts history if underperforming, and, possibly a nagging hamstring injury right now?

Current offer made to me by the other mgr sits at;

MY: Jerome Ford + Khalil Shakir

For
HIS: Kyle Pitts

I initially felt like any of my bench RBs might be enough for a simple/straight up trade, as the other team is short on RB depth, and several online trade analyzers supported this as a *very* equal trade..
Other mgr first countered by trying to package out one of my QBs which is a hard no for me.
Now we are here (above trade)
(Maybe I could get him to include his Rico Dowdle as a 2 for 2 to better balance?)

I really like Ford’s upside… how can Chubb be even close to himself this year after what he did. I did essentially the same injury playing rugby many years ago. Medicine has changed, but he’s still only going to be a year removed…
I don’t like the idea of giving away Shakir (I see potential boom) essentially “for free”

Note:
* I may have a line on Jerome Ford for Evan Engram (will he really shine in new team/setting? with another owner
* And.. available TEs on the waiver wire include;
Jonnu Smith
Cole Kmet
Cade Otton
Colby Parkinson
Taysom Hill

QB - Jalen Hurts
QB -Jake Allen
RB - Kyren Williams
RB - Raschad White
WR - Chris Olave
WR - D.K. Metcalf
TE - Dallas Goedert
W/R/T – James Conner

BN - Terry McLaurin
BN - Keenan Allen
BN - Joshua Palmer
BN - Khalil Shakir
BN - Jerome Ford
BN - Chase brown
IR - Jonathon Brooks

K - Evan McPherson
DST - Buffalo

If you can get a Dowdle thrown in, great. But if not, I still like the trade. I think big things are ahead for Pitts this year and its a position of need for you.

I think you have to do this trade.

The volatility of the 2 players you are mentioning is pretty high. While risk is certainly involved with Kyle Pitts, his draft stock and potential pedigree outweighs the risk and the situation is very good. As the deal stands currently, I would still take Kyle Pitts. I would feel less great about it, if you didn't have a long-term option for replacing Jerome Ford but I think you have that with Chase Brown & Brooks (when he returns from injury).

Because I like to counter every trade offer ever sent to me or at least talk through other options with players on my team for theirs... I would try to see if Dallas Goedert has a potential landing spot for someone. I saw Rico Dowdle was mentioned upthread and I think including Goedert for Dowdle would make a ton of sense.

I am a Dallas Cowboys fan and took the position last year, Dowdle is probably better than Zeke at this stage of their careers.

I really can't contribute intelligently about this.. but, looking things over I think I def make this trade. Good player at a position of need.

Thanks for answering mine.

Overall I like your team and I would have done the same in a 2 QB league. With it being a MUST to start 2 QBs, locking up 2 of the top ones is a good move. Well done there.

For me it would be tough giving up Ford even though its not a bad idea to aim for Pitts. I like the idea in principle I just have trouble giving up Ford. If you can get Rico thrown in to give you a bit of depth at RB that would be good. Outside of your 2 starters and Conner (not including Brooks)I would feel a little light at RB if I traded Ford.

What does the waiver wire look like for RBs? Maybe with an open bench spot (if you can't get RIco or a back-up RB off him) you can pick up another RB.

Having said that I don't see a third QB on your roster. In 2QB or SF I would 100% be carrying another QB too for byes as you have to start 2. If I did make the trade and had an open bench spot I'd try to pick up another QB. Once the byes start rolling in the QB waivers will become pretty thing. Best to get ahead of it now.

Ok that is a lot of rambling to say if you make the deal go grab another QB.

Thanks for the perspective. I've been thinking about the QB aspect, and yes, had that same thought that if I am pushed into 2 for 1, it gives me space for a backup QB (Aaron Rodgers, Daniel JOnes, Sam Darnold, Derek Carr, Jacoby Brissett, Bryce Young, and Russel Wilson appear to be the best options right now).
As for RB WW... I feel the best options are really all backups... Charbonnet, Irving (handcuff for R White?) Khalil Herbert, and Ray Davis

Based on your roster construction I think it's a must accept trade. it helps your starting lineup tremendously with only losing depth pieces. Easy accept.

I like the idea of getting Rogers if you can. Ray Davis and Charbs are the 2 I would probably initially target here if you want an RB. Bucky Irving is a sneaky one that could slowly steal touches away and is one of your cuffs.

All good options if you make the deal.

I agree that this is a must trade for you with the TE depth, you will recover from ford when brooks comes back. Try to swindle Rico if you can but I don’t think he will do that. Thanks for mine!
