This guy is clearly not big enough to play tackle anymore. Any K.C homers know if they have anyone else that can do the job? I can't believe they can't do better then Turley.

I remember from a thread this summer that you had mentioned the guy who had played in NFL Europe as a potential Roaf replacement. Has the coaching staff given any indication that this will be a possibility this year? I would worry about the possibility for injury for a guy that has already played 10 games this year being expected to start 15 games in the NFL. However, everything you have posted (and the results of the first game) seem to show that Black is nowhere near being up to the task.I guess what I am getting at is: In your opinion as a local KC guy, do you think it is likely that the Chiefs are going to improve their left tackle position during this season?

I'd imagine that's one of the hardest positions on the o-line to improve.

I am not sure about LT, but I expect Svitek to start soon, like maybe this week in DEN. I dont know which position he wowuld play. If it were me I would stick with Turley @ LT....he really didnt do a bad job Sunday. And I would roll with Svitek @ RT

FWIW I just read on ChiefsPlanet that ESPN's John Clayton said on M& M thsi morning that KC is looking at former JAX LT Mike Pearson.
Kevin nailed it - Jordan "The Matador" Black (he waves the D-Lineman through to the QB) was a putrid start last year, and when I heard about it this year, I knew then we had been "Herminated".
Seriously - I'm glad everyone is so high on Larry Johnson still, me too, sorta, but the O-Line, IMO, dropped about "10-15 places" from last year.

I don't know that i'd describe Turley's performance as "not bad". In fact, i'd grade it as the exact opposite - bad.
Black, as accurately stated, was terrible.
And, due to the nature of the game, I haven't re-watched the game to fully support my hunch, but I don't think the interior of the offensive line had a very good game at all. The holes weren't very big and didn't stay open for very long, and there was definitely pressure from the inside -- something Chiefs fans are not used to seeing.
