I believe he has to be #1 pick next year as long as Priest is gone.

This guy smoked Denver D when they were #1 and just did the same to San Dog
Depend on what happens in the offseason. I believe both Shields and Roaf are free agents. You take out those two and his value drops significantly.

I'm still amazed the Saints ran Roaf out of town. Bet they wish they had handled that situation differently.

The Saints could have found a way to make Mora happy years ago. That team also had 4 Pro Bowl LBers, IIRC Mills coached with the Panthers before he passed and....yep they've made plenty of mistakes.Horn and Brooks "outta nowhere" are two in their favor IMO

In one of my dynasty leagues this past offseason, I wish I hadn't traded LJ, Pennington and my 2006 #1 pick for McAllister. He woudl have looked nice next to Alexander next season.

If Alexander is back with Seattle next year, he would be #1 on my board. LJ is very tempting if Holmes retires, but he has not proven he can carry the load for a full season. Sharing the job with Holmes kept him fresher for the stretch run. But unlike SA, he has not had to be the man game after game, year after year. I think he will have a big year, but Alexander in Seattle is a surer thing.

I'll take LJ at 1.01. No regrets. He's up over 26 ppg as a starter. That's just sick. I traded him and a few other guys for SA this past offseason in a dynasty league. I kind of wish I had that one back. It must really suck for the guy who gave him up along with a future #1 for 2Mac.

Thanks for the correction.

I can see him falling to #4 if they lose both, but regardless, it's not number one.

I would be worried how somebody like Alexander will perform once he got his phat new contract. :banned: It wouldn't surprise me one bit if his production fell enough not to warrent a top 3 fantasy pick.

Any logic for this reasoning? He has performed like a top 3 back, as expected, for years now .... why would a $Big$ contract suddenly prevent him from continuing the career that will surely land him in the HOF? You can tell by yesterdays, chomping to get back on the field that he is a baller, wants to play, wants to win and wants to perform.

The money and the huge contract, would suceed in allowing him to focus on one thing ... and that is football. He would not have to worry about contracts expiring, he would not have to worry about where he will end up, he will not have to worry about anything .... but GameDay.

LJ single handedly won my league for me!!!!! It was like getting LT in the 4th round....and I got laughed at for taking him there without having Priest. I for sure got lucky that he saw the field as much as he did, but I had a hunch about Priest not making it. Johnson is a stud, but I think I'd have to take LT or SA before him if the draft was today. As KC management said, Priest is still part of the mix. If for sure Priest isn't around, LJ is a very possible #1 but I still like LT better.

Chiefs | Edwards says there is a good chance Roaf will return in 2006

Fri, 10 Feb 2006 18:57:12 -0800

NFL.com reports Kansas City Chiefs head coach Herman Edwards said he believes there is a good chance OT Willie Roaf will return to the team for the 2006 season.

Everyone in KC is acting under assumption Roaf ia back ...

I don't have the exact numbers but LJ was pretty close to Alexander in yards starting 5 or 6 games less last season. The guy is a stud when he has a good o-line. LJ and Steve Smith were my 2 top players last year by far.

The three RBs that I would rank at the top all have minor question marks to consider.

1. LJ - has a new coach and Roaf isn't in the fold for sure just yet. You just never know what a new coach might try to do to keep defenses on their toes and that could have a negative impact on Johnson.

2. LT - Brees, his proven QB, is gone and with Rivers at the helm LT could see a lot more guys in the box when he carries the ball.

3. SA - I honestly don't expect much of a drop off from his averages for the three years prior to last (1500 yds and 16 TDs), but you never know what guaranteed money does to a players desire. Will he still have the drive? Will he still play when nicked up? Plus, how much of an impact would losing Hutchinson have? None of us know, but I would be surprised if he didn't put up 1600 and 16-20 TDs.

All that being said, I would probably put Johnson at #1 because Holmes will be used sparingly (my opinion) and Shields and Roaf will make his life a lot easier. Johnson has shown he can shoulder the load. Although he has never done it for a full year, he also hasn't shown any instance of injury in the extended duty he has had.

In a redraft I'd take Alexander #2. Like I already said, there is no reason to think he can't put up 1600 and 16-20 this year with almost the exact same team that he had last year.

Dynasty LT is #2 IMHO, but for a redraft I'd put him at #3. He will probably get more touches as the Bolts break in Rivers, but he'll also probably see a lot tougher defenses in front of him too.

Those are just my thoughts.

It's not like you can go wrong between LT2, SA, or LJ. I'd probably stay away from SA just because his schedule is going to be a bit tougher.

LT is the #1 pick in 06'

One reason:

Marty Shot(howeveruspelltherest) is going to battle with an unproven QB. Last time that happened, LT was Fantasy's #1 RB.

I hope I get the chance....

That was largely because of his receiving yardage. Gates wasn't in the fold then. Since he's been there Lt's receptions have been halved. My early projection is 1950 total yards and 15 TDs.

I didn't think it worked like that anymore. Thought it was a rotation and pretty much set in stone aside from a game or two. Do they face a tough AFC division next year?

They play thre AFC west.My current rankin:

1 - LarryJ

2 - SAlex

3 - LT2

giant drop off.

I think LT2 in PPR leagues could very well be #1 though. I suspect Rivers will check down and dink & dunk it to LT2 alot this year.

In standard scoring leagues, LT has never ranked higher than 3rd. He may have been #1 in PPR leagues, but I doubt he'll come close to 100 receptions again.
