Lance Moore (1 Viewer)

Noticed he got a catch for 1 yard yesterday. Didn't get to watch the game (Nor look up time played) for him. To those who did watch or have insight to his involvement, could you update me about his playing time and targets? Is he a guy that should be considered for pickup NOW, (assuming he is available) with a bye comeing up?

I think he's going to be officially a boom/bust (bustbustbust) type of player, much like henderson. Colston, Shockey and the running backs are the only players getting consistent targets (and with 4 targets, bush had is lowest output in a long time).

I suspect that Moore at some point this season will have an 8 grab 100 yard TD game, and everyone will rush to pick him up (and Henderson and Meacham will likely have a couple as well). But barring injuries to Colston and Shockey, and maybe even bush, it is going to be tough for him to produce consistently.

I thought Moore would be used 'moore' (heh heh) in tough games. I think last year his numbers went way up when both Colston and/or Re Bush were out. He's sort of a handcuff to those guys.

i think payton is still easing him into the game. he's done this with other players too. i am of the opinion that moore is a vital cog in the passing game. he's a brees favorite for a reason. some fans are frustrated with brees' production over the last two games. i think it's because they're blanketing colston and making him look to guys like henderson and meachem. they're just not as reliable or suited for that underneath stuff. that's moore's bread and butter really. shockey isn't as reliable a target, in part because he might be staying in to block. moore's going to be healthy for the giants game. i would really look to grab him going forward.

i think i might dump chris henry for lance moore...i'm in a deep 20 team league and someone just dropped him this past week on Sunday right before the games...hopefully i can grab him off the wire...

This is exactly why I grabbed him off the wire last week. I put him in my starting lineup as my WR3 just minutes before kickoff on Sunday, mostly because of what I read from the beat writer at the Picayune. I didn't have any better options so I took the chance on Moore. I think he'll start to produce in a couple of weeks or three when Brees looks to air it out again with another four or five TD game.
