The above are links to the stories regarding his press meeting. Apparently, Kiffin impressed all of the reporter types with his knowledge and plans (what was revealed, anyway).

Oakland appears more likely to take Russell, unless they pick up a QB in the next few weeks.

Moss appears to be staying, unless someone pays an Al Davis price (ain't happening, in my opinion).

If what he is saying publicly at this time of year is actually reflective of what they plan to do, then it was a horrible hire.

Let's not forget Al spotted a young John Madden and Mike Shannahan...

Raiders could be this year's Saints.

I'm not saying it's likely, but they have weapons.

Agreed. Two years ago the rest of the AFC West was none-too thrilled about a Moss/Porter duo, and it sounds like that's what they'll have...plus a vastly improved Curry. Of course, not knowing who will throw the balls....

I'm not saying they will explode, but they have, if not the best, one of the top few defensive coordinators in the business.

Their head coach apparently has down pat one aspect of his job, dealing with the media.

The offensive coordinator has never run a bed and breakfast, and was coaching in the NFL last year, and the year before that, etc.

I didn't read all the links, but did he say anything about the running game (i.e., Jordan vs. Rhodes)?

Guys, as a working journalist, let me tell what is happening here: Writers are praising the kid, who has everything against him, when the stakes are low - low - low, in order to butter him up so they can have better access later when the stakes are high. Everyone of these "Lane Kiffin is impressive" stories is a bouquet of flowers to the kid, in the hopes that the journalist sending it will be the one Lane cries to the first time you-know-who moons the fans.

Raider nation -- don't get your hopes up. How impressive can the guy be at a breakfast for all the AFC coaches? C'mon...

I'm not saying the kid isn't the next Madden -- just see the game here for what it is, sharks.

The only weapons in the Raiders stadium are the handguns and shanks the fans get past the metal detectors. :rimshot:

Sorry but you cant give Al credit for Shannahan since he fired him 5 games into his Raider career. In fact, you could say its typical Al that he fired him when he did. So he found one good coach in 30 years. And, every coach is impressive in March. Lets see how impressive he is in December.
