Larry Johnson may be suspended again! (1 Viewer)

Fair & Balanced
ESPN reports that Chiefs RB Larry Johnson will be subject to another suspension because of a new situation where he allegedly had a second physical altercation with a woman in a night club during the team's bye week. It's the second such incident he's been involved in this year. He has yet to be charged. "We are aware of the most recent incident involving Larry Johnson and we are very disappointed with his involvement," GM Carl Peterson said in a statement. "We will cooperate fully with the Kansas City authorities who are investigating the matter. We have also made the NFL office in New York aware of the incident and officials there are conducting their own independent investigation

When I posted in the thread earlier this week that the KC media were all referring to something but could not say, I have to believe this was it.

At this point, I would not be surprised to see him suspended for eight games, which depending on when it was handed down, would basically be the rest of the season.

Well took me all of 20 minutes but managed to package him lol... could be getting nothing here but I feel safer.

LJ + Ben Leber (lol) for Jamal Lewis and Derrick Johnson (KC)

I knew I should have dumped LJ after his 2 TD day a few weeks ago. LJ was like a slot machine..he paid me a little and I wanted to keep feeding him.

seriously?? that's it?
:goodposting: Story sounds fishy. If she blatantly touched LJ without his permission, then he has the right to push her away, as long as he isn't using excessive force.
Unless he makes that stupid diamond sign with his hands, in which case he deserves to have the book thrown at him.

You realize it's not a "diamond sign" .

If I had to guess, I'd say the league follows the Brandon Marshall precedent and issues a two game suspension, with a possibility to appeal it down to one if LJ's lawyer and agent can show he deserves clemency. I'll bet the team issued the suspension as an attempt to "pay it down" with the league. This seems to be a favored tactic of NFL teams this season, no doubt a response by league owners to a league mandate to keep their house in order. LJ is a pawn in the Edwards/Peterson power struggle in KC, and Peterson really has no choice but to stick by his anointed franchise back. I suspect LJ will get another chance.

Sociopath and likely rapist Jerramy Stevens still suited up for the Bucs last night, right?

Larry Johnson is being investigated by police because he allegedly spat in a woman's face at a Kansas City nightclub during the Chiefs' Week 6 bye.

L.J. also allegedly told the woman he'd "kill her boyfriend." ESPN's Michael Smith says Johnson is sure to be suspended, but doesn't know for how long. L.J. owners should prepare to be without him for multiple weeks, as this is the fourth assault accusation against him in the last five years.

Marshall has a far more spotty history then LJ in just the past couple years and only got 2 games appealed down to 1.The precedent has already been set how the league deals with these issues, he won't get more then 2 games.

Maybe LJ knows he'd get suspended and made the latest transgression on purpose so he doesn't have to run behind that joke of a OL anymore.... :(

Just keeping his legs fresh for next season on a different team.

before he is suspended...wont he have to be found guilty? 8 games? shoot marshall only had a couple

NBC affiliate in KC reporting that Johnson has been told to stay away from Arrowhead -- similar to what Philly did with Terrell Owens.

No. According to the rules... he doesn't even have to be charged.

Maybe we need a sticky where it explains that Goodell will suspend players without a court conviction, seems alot of people don't get this yet.

Holy crap. What does that mean? They releasing him?
Probably, which is the best possible scenario for those with LJ.
In a keeper/dynasty league perhaps. In a redraft, it's the worst possible scenario. TO and Keyshawn were done for the year when their teams took this route with them.

I had an offer out there to get Addai for LJ ... I may see if that's still available (and I hate Addai)
