Larry Johnson Review? (1 Viewer)

I know there were a couple of posts on here yesterday concerning LJ and the goal line situation. I'm aware that it was generally thought that the article where this idea came from was taken out of context. However, one of the articles on this site yesterday stated that "we learned this week that Larry Johnson will not get goal line carries".

I find it next to impossible that Herm would take LJ out of the goalline carries. Any homers out there hearing anything definititve on this situation?

atl defense gives up 4.5 yards per carry on the ground..Chiefs avg 3.4 per rush.something has to give..LJ runs for 125 and 2tds against the Falcons this weekend.

I sure hope so.............still, I'm tinkering with the idea of starting TD vulture Tim Hightower ahead of him. I just don't know.

So...what's the Shark Pool's latest thoughts on LJ? He actually imo looked good against Atlanta.
My take is that LJ is more of a matchup type play for the rest of the year. The Chiefs are horrible & in games that they are getting blown out he will have some bad outings. If they are in then game then he should have some decent games...

He was hit & miss. I don't have the numbers but it felt like he was either 1 yard or 10 yards, nothing in between. I was routinely shocked to see him on the sidelines in red zone situations. I don't know what his schedule looks like going forward, but this might be a good time to sell high on LJ, IMO.

Here were all the plays KC had inside the 5 yard line:

FIRST QUARTER: None

SECOND QUARTER: None

THIRD QUARTER:

2nd-1, ATL1 9:49 L. Johnson rushed up the middle for 1 yard touchdown. N. Novak made PAT

FOURTH QUARTER:

2nd-4, ATL4 4:10 T. Thigpen incomplete pass down the middle

3rd-4, ATL4 4:04 J. Charles rushed up the middle for 2 yard gain

4th-2, ATL2 3:53 L. Johnson rushed to the right for 1 yard gain

I plan to Play him against Denver, then hopefully look to trade high
I have to ask . . . what makes you think he will fare any better against Denver? The problem for LJ has been that they have been so far behind they have abandoned the run (or run a lot less). Given that Denver has been averaging close to 40 points a game, do you see the Chiefs doing any better against the Broncos?

Also, while the Denver pass defense is atrocious, their run defense has been pretty good.It is an okay matchup though, because I would still consider them fairly soft and they have yet to face a bruising type back like LJ... he has killed the Broncos historically.
