Last ditch effort trade question.... (1 Viewer)

In a 14-team redraft, currently sitting at 2-5 and behind a handful of teams that are 3-4, one of which is right at the cutoff for playoffs, which start Week 14. So it's really about time to poop or get off the pot, as they say.

I drafted Lamar Jackson as my QB1 but since he got dinged, made a deal for Danny Dimes to hold me over. Jones has been great and I'm contemplating using Lamar as trade bait to improve at both RB and WR.

RBs are currently Irving (out another week), Vidal and McNichols. I know, yuck.

WRs are currently Garrett Wilson (praying he's back this week and jives w/ Tyrod), Pittman and Boutte. Pretty yuck there, too.

I also have a RB/WR flex spot to fill.

I have the potential to deal Lamar for Nico Collins (I know he's in concussion protocol) and Tony Pollard. Pollard would be an upgrade at RB2 from the jump and Collins is hopefully back in Week 9, so I'd roll Collins, Wilson and Pittman out at WR with Boutte at flex until Bucky's back and I can flex Pollard.

Worth rolling the dice w/ Collins? Or, alternatively, I might be able to just deal Jones straight up for Pollard to semi-fix my RB2 quandary and roll with Lamar at QB.

Thoughts?

If you believe Collins comes back and can do anything close to what he is supposed to do then the trade is worthwhile. I am just not sure Collins will do that.

I think you could get someone better than Pollard for Jones but sometimes the QB market is pretty terrible so maybe not.

I don't really like either offer but sometimes you just got to hold your nose and take a plunge.

I still like Lamars upside in a given week when you need wins

but I think Collins will be really solid down the stretch too.. Tough call

I ended up offering Lamar for Collins, and instead of Pollard, asked for Dowdle. I know Hubbard is back but I think Dowdle leads that backfield going forward. We'll see what happens.
