PPR. Any tips would be appreciated, such as players to avoid, sleepers, late round gems, injuries, etc. Anything, I don't have time to read every thread. Thanks in advance.

Sleepers/late rounders:

RB: James Davis (CLE), Bernard Scott (CIN), Mike Goodson (CAR).

WR: Percy Harvin (MIN), Malcolm Kelly (WAS).

TE: Jared Cook (TEN), Jermichael Finley (GB).

Avoid Rideau, Brandon WR-CHI as he's been cut. With the RB injuries situation in NOS, Hill, P.J. is officially an item.

Avoid all Tampa Bay players. 3-headed RBBC, iffy quarterback, iffy WR except for the banged-up Bryant who has a history of being an ########, and Winslow, who also has a history of injuries and ######## behavior.

Player to avoid: Plaxico Burress. Injuries: Antonio Bryant, Donnie Avery, Kevin Jones.

Final suggestion is to get a new username. I'm embarrassed for you.

Wait on drafting a QB. Don't take Brees or Brady in the second round regardless if passing td's are 6 points. You'll spend the rest of your draft playing catchup, if you even are lucky enough to make up ground, at RB and WR. Guys are touting all the depth at RB thus trying to justify taking QB's and TE's early. GET TOP RB's and WR's early on and your chances of going to your league's show are gonna increase. Don't spend an early pick on one of the top 3 TE's(Witten,Gates,Gonzo) as there's several guys you can get a few rounds later that'll give you enough production so you can concentrate on getting players, RB's & WR's, that'll win you a championship.

I have one money league draft left and after all the drafts I've completed I'm definitely going to look to get top backs and receivers early. Yes there's depth at rb but also a lot of committee's, questions and I don't want to have to worry about whether my rb's are gonna get carries.

I'm embarassed too. But anyway, Avery is healthy now. Don't underestimate him. He's very good.
I was going to say the same thing. I have been reading good updates on him lately, that he is making a quick recovery, and that he's almost pain free. Don't know if it's true or not (you'd know better, being a Ram homer) but I wouldn't pass on him in the 9th, maybe even 8th now.

RB's to target in the middle to late rounds:Felix Jones, Leon Washington, Ahmad Bradhsaw, Darren Sproles, Jamaal Charles, Fred Jackson, Michael Bush.I'm convinced that at least two of those guys will have very good RB2 value and one of them will have borderline RB1 value. I listed them in the order that I would draft them.RB's I'm avoiding:Larry Johnson, Thomas Jones, Marshawn Lynch, Jamal Lewis.WR's to target in the middle to late rounds:DeSean Jackson, TJ Houshmandzadeh, Eddie Royal, Braylon Edwards, Percy Harvin, Chris Henry, Nate Burleson, Hakeem Nicks.WR's I'm avoiding:Terrell Owens, Roy Williams, Antonio Bryant, Brandon Marshall (unless he falls ridiculously low).QB's to target:Aaron Rodgers (I think he could finish #1 this year). In the middle to late rounds:Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan, Matt Hasselbeck, Shaun Hill.QB's I'm avoiding:Kurt Warner, Carson Palmer, Trent Edwards, Tony Romo (relative to where he's being taken).TE's:Wait on TE's and target John Carlson, Visanthe Shaincoe, or Jermichael Finley late.

Mostly good advice. But why would you avoid Lynch? In PPR, he is a boderline RB1 that can be had in rounds 5-7, at RB3 price. And Rhodes was released today, increasing Lynch's value.

I have the 7th pick in a PPR. I was considering Andre in rd 1 then either Wayne or Jennings in rd 2. Then the best rbs available in rds 3 and 4. Do you think I would be too weak at RB by doing this ? What about TE Clark in rd 5 ? Is that too early for a TE ? I think he is going to have a great year, but could I find better value later ?

If I were going to list players and targets it'd look pretty much like what you've posted. I too believe that two of the rb's you have listed will hit. Middle to late WR targets are good but a couple of them I think will go early middle rounds, probably Housh and Royal.I'm keeping an eye on Deon Butler later in Seattle if Burleson still has hammy problems. Finley's cat's out of the bag and some may snag hima little earlier as well as Shiancoe with Favre throwing.

Raiders | Cable said team has six legitimate playmakers on offense

Wed, 02 Sep 2009 13:26:45 -0700

CBSSports.com report Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable said the Raiders have six legitimate playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. He categorizes RB Darren McFadden, RB Michael Bush, TE Zach Miller, WR Chaz Schilens, WR Darrius Heyward-Bey and WR Louis Murphy as playmakers.

Draft the playmakers for the R A I D E R S

Almost forgot, Chad Ochocinco deleted his twitter account last night because of NFL rules ( :P )

He is going to be angry, and opposing DBs won't like Chad when he's angry.

seriously ? I love Clark this year, but it seems I could get somebody with good value late and take another RB or WR here. But, if Clark does what I think he is going to do, rd 5 may be ok. I like Olsen too. Not sure what his adp is. And, somebody mentioned Carleson. With Hass Healthy, he could be a good option too. This is why I am thinking rd 5 is too early for Clark.

I just think that team is a mess. The OL is a disaster, the OC just got released and I'm also concerned that if Jackson is very productive early, he could cut into Lynch's production moving forward. Add to that the fact that he hasn't looked like much in the pre-season (granted, limited action) and I just think he has too many question marks surrounding him. I'll let someone else take that chance.

Forgot to add in my original post that Betts is another target. He'll be on the field a lot more this year, and, while I'm not one to try to project injuries, I just have a bad feeling about Portis this year.

And the Rams are not.
Are they worse than last year (honest question as I really do not know).Assuming they are about the same strength, I figure Avery's numbers can only go up (provided he's healthy) because A) he's a second year WR vs. a first and B) he played with a cracked hip last year. Assuming Avery will be healthy this year could be tragic, but assuming he does, I think last year's production is his floor, which would make him a great value in the 9th round and I'd prefer him to Kevin Walter etc.

Personally, I think the Colts high flying passing attack is back (mostly because Saturday is healthy and Peyton was on key during the preseason). Add in that Addai probably won't be productive as 2 years ago, the defense is a little down, I can see the Colts getting behind in games and a very capable Manning airing it out all 2nd half, with Clark getting plenty of targets. He is well worth a 5th round pick, but that's just me.

For someone asking for help, you seem to have the answers. Now I am done with that, I think these boards have covered just about everyone. Ronnie Brown is not so much a sleeper, but going in the third round will do nice! A sleeper would be James Davis. I just don't see Jamal doing well.
