last play of titans game (1 Viewer)

The play won't be negated, but the yardage totals might be adjusted. Walker might be credited with 32 yards instead of 33 yards.

The lateral to walker was clearly forward according to a friend
It appeared to be a forward lateral while I watched the play live but it was not "clearly" forward. If the Jets do not complain about it, I doubt Elias and the NFL would bother.

It was clearly forward and shouldn't have counted, but since no flag was thrown I don't think they can/will change it. It almost cost me my playoff game. I was starting to wish he had scored so they'd be forced to review it.

I found no site that took ten yards away from nate. He was listed as having negative 10 in the play by play but it wasn't applied to his total. I expect this to be corrected.

I thought laterals after the LOS were rushing yards and behind were passing/receiving. The way it's scored, guess I'm wrong. It's odd how a guy can get receiving yards but there are no passing yards to match. I totally understand, just sayin

Here is the play

Play-by-play says:

3-10-TEN 42 (:00) 12-C.Whitehurst pass short middle to 22-D.McCluster to TEN 48 for 6 yards. Lateral to 85-N.Washington to TEN 38 for -10 yards. Lateral to 12-C.Whitehurst to NYJ 42 for 20 yards. Lateral to 82-D.Walker to NYJ 9 for 33 yards (26-D.Landry).

What really happened:

Ball on Titans' 42 yard line.

McCluster catches it at 48, runs to 49, and laterals to Washington at the 48 (That's 1 reception and net 6 receiving yards for McCluster)

Washington runs to 43 and throws to Whitehurst at the 38 (That's -10 receiving yards for Washington)

Whitehurst runs to Jets' 45 and throws to Walker who catches it at the Jets' 43 (That's 19 receiving yards for Whitehurst, assuming Whitehurst gets the credit for the extra 2 yards)

Walker runs to Jets' 9-yard line (That's 34 receiving yards for Walker)

So, I'd say that if anything changes, you might see Walker get 1 more yard receiving while Whitehurst loses 1 yard.

I believe laterals are the type of yardage that applied to the teammate who previously had the ball.

after watching this is without a doubt a forward pass. hopefully the NFL ignores. if i lose walker's 33 yards i lose the game. 1 or 2 won't matter.

Rex did state that it was a forward pass, but once they brought the final guy down there was no reason to challenge it since the game was over.

With that said, I don't believe stat corrections will apply what "should have been" a penalty - they are purely looking for statistical errors that were originally assessed.

This was without a doubt, the best play of the game for their stagnant offense. Why don't teams that stink try this earlier in the game?

Wildcat Ronnie Brown stuff made a not so good Fins team far more competitive. I love a good flea flicker or QB going on a pass route or fake punt or onsides kick before the 4th Q...

I've never understood how we can all predict a score like 42-7 and the sure bet losing team not trying to pull a rabbit out of their hat.

ETA yeah I know they had a shot against the Jets, I mean other weeks that were far more predictable and any lesser type team
