Latest on Ricky Williams? (1 Viewer)

He's waiting for Godot.
yeah, i thought of that when i wrote it but figured it was too obscure for our crowd.
Beckett references in the Shark Pool?
God, what a ####### convention.Especially since this is EXACTLY what I thought of when I entered the thread (godot that is). And there it was, in the first post. Followed by the second. Followed by the third.BTW, thought waiting for Godot was overated. Sell high.

I've always liked 'Endgame' better myself....

Funny story (I think): Senior year of high school, took the AP english test and big question about Waiting for Godot but without the title in the question......I knew what story it was referencing, but couldn't remember ANY character names (2). Wrote the whole answer using "the guy that was talking to the other guy". Ended up with a 4 out 5 on the test....must have been some class A BS'ing.

Edited to add: DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT RICKY WILLIAMS STATUS?

Reports say Koren Robinson should get reinstated within a week and I believe he applied on September 14th, about 2 weeks before Ricky so that might provide a timeline on the length of this process. Koren actually can not play until October 17th and his situation involved multiple arrests so I'd actually think Ricky's case should go quicker. I would have thought the Dolphins would apply some pressure on the NFL to wrap up the process prior to next weeks trading deadline but it's getting a little tight on time for that.

Under the league's substance abuse program, when a player applies for reinstatement the doctors have up to 45 days to submit their report and recommendation to the commissioner. He then has up to 15 days to make a decision. That means the process could take up to 60 days from the day Williams applies to be reinstated.

That plus I don't think Williams is eligible till the end of Oct to come back. You are looking at 1st week of November for Ricky to be reinstated at the earliest. Only way it looks like Miami can trade him is doing it with conditions, number 1 condition being he does get reinstated.

We had "Waiting for Gado" a couple years back.

So with the trade deadline past and Cameron having stated that he didn't want Ricky, is it safe to say that Ricky has zero value this year?
Actually, his value probably improves with the passing of the trade deadline.IF we is reinstated, the Dolphins will cut him, and he will be free to sign with anyone willing to take him. Still, I don't expect much fantasy production.

Wouldn't he actually have to go through waivers? (And not be a free agent)
