Laurence Maroney (1 Viewer)

Read in a bunch of areas that Maroney didn't work out at the pro day due to a strained hamstring. Didn't see any talk of this around here.

This guy can't seem to shake his recent injuries. This can't be good for draft propects. You got to think that pro scouts are going to think twice about a guy who didn't perform at the combine or his pro day. I could see him falling to the early second.

Edited to say: I do see that he is rescheduled for March 23 workout. He best be healthy by then.

NCAA | Maroney to miss Pro Day workoutMon, 6 Mar 2006 14:18:48 -0800NFL.com reports Minnesota RB Laurence Maroney (hamstring) will not work out at his team's Pro Day on Monday, March 6, due to a strained hamstring. Maroney has rescheduled his individual workout on campus on Thursday, March 23.
Also though this was interesting:I had read the Pats were speaking with Maroney a bit at the combine. Obviously a ton of teams "could" consider drafting him, but this just confirms a little interest- only thing I've seen in writing.
Patriots | Team might consider Maroney in draftMon, 6 Mar 2006 17:51:19 -0800According to Tom Casale of Patriots Football Weekly, the New England Patriots could consider Minnesota RB Laurence Maroney with the No. 21 overall draft choice.

Thanks, this makes sence. He HAS to do something before the draft. :goodposting:

Bill B: "Hey, Lawrence, how about you skip pro-day, we want you around at 21?"

Maroney: "Don't play with me coach"

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't be surprised if Maroney slipped into the second round.
With 3 RBs likely going in the first for sure, its not out of the question. The 2nd tier of this draft is very thick and lots of guys could go anywhere from 20 to 60.

Bad move if true.
would you want to play for Minnesota? lolhe'd probably do the same with N.O, Az.

ouch..my hammy hurts..i can't make it your pro day workouts..

lol
I think that this might have been the University of Minnesota's pro workout day, not the Minnesota Vikings.

lol..you're right.same angle tho..who wants to play in Viking-land??lol

This is a non event as long as he delivers the goods on the 23rd.
 Maroney announced the 23rd as his private work out day at the combine. He wanted to be at least two weeks recovered from the tweaked hammy. He could postpone it another week and it would still be a non-event. Fwiw, he was running blazing 40s in AZ before pulling up lame (according to his agent and the guy who was training him out there).
