Laurent Robinson (1 Viewer)

From Rotoworld:

Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Laurent Robinson is done for the season with a broken leg.

Miklasz says it's either a fractured tibia or fibula -- he isn't sure. Robinson was easily the Rams' best pass catcher in their first three games, but he has been injury prone throughout his three-year pro career. Keenan Burton, who is purely a possession receiver, will move into the starting lineup. It's a major downgrade, and will make St. Louis' offense easier to defend. Sep. 28 - 3:45 pm et

Am I the only one who thinks this COULD actually help SJaxs' value?
How? When the only WR currently available on the Rams roster is a slower, posession guy - you have no deep threat, no way to spread the defense and no way to make the safety respect the pass. What defense isn't going to just say "We'll but 8+ in the box, take SJax out of the game and make the injured QB and his sorry excuse of a WR corps beat us". I like SJax and his talent - but he's not good enough (nor is his offensive line) to carry the team and put numbers that would even come close to justifying his ADP. I'd be suprised if he's in the top 20 RBs buy the end of the season...even if he stays healthy. Notice his TD number (0) - teams are only going to key on him more than they already have.

Really too bad, kids got a dark cloud hanging over him, always getting hurt. Well, there goes my 2009 sleeper.

Yeah, I was feeling like I pulled off the sleeper of the year ww pickup.....plugged him in yesterday for bowe. Then the wheels came off the bus.....

Donnie Avery runs a 4.2 40. I don't have a clue as to what his problem is this year -- I don't think he isn't dealing with any injuries, but has barely been a blip on the stat line. If anyone had a chance to pick up production receiving for the Rams it would be him.

Maybe. He will draw #1 coverage still. He's tiny. Boller is inches from being the starter and he isn't exactly know for accuracy. I would think Burton will get just as many looks if not more. He of course, will alos get hurt. Then Steven Jackson and this team will be at the point where it should join the UFL....where they would continue losing.

Im going to guess you've never watched Donnie Avery. Hes a mess with his routes.

he's also coming off of a stress fracture in his foot that was supposed to sideline him the first few weeks of this season. on top of that, he's been wearing those new gloves lately... you know... the ones made of stone.

Can't say that I catch many Rams games, it's either not on or I'm too busy getting water boarded. He had a decent rookie season, so what has happened? Has he regressed or just lucky with 53 catches last year?

That'll be a perfect fit with Boller because he's a mess with his passes.

Is Robinson worth stashing on a roster as a Keeper? I drafted in late with a 17th but from what I see is Injury history is horrible.

it's a shame about LRob. he was having a nice season considering where he was.

I was using him as my #3-4 wr and he was at least getting some numbers every week.

and about SJax,

I read he just dropped himself off his own FFL team.

they are just train wreck. Basically, they go from really awful to really, really awful.

as far as team management around this is concerned, when will the Rams officially IR him, I'm really hoping its before our waiver this week so that i dont have to drop anyone to grab a replacement, our league only allows IR spots for players officially placed on IR by their teams

Was Laurent Robinson so great that teams weren't already stacking 8 in the box? Is Bulger so scary the safeties couldn't stack the line?

I don't think this hurts SJax like some of you seem to think. If anything, they may be forced to give him the ball even more than they were...
