With Justin Gage doubtful, do you think we see much of Hawkins this week?

(On if Lavelle Hawkins will see playing time this week)

If Justin [Gage] is unable to go then we’ll keep Lavelle up in there.

Im excited to see what Hawkins can do. I think he can ascend to start in TEN next year as long as he plays up to his potential. DeSean Jackson is faster and quicker, but Hawkins was by far the more polished receiver with much tighter breaks in his routes and outstanding deep ball tracking skills. Hawkins looked like the best Cal receiver in more than game last season (for that matter Robert Jordan looked better than Jackson at times). Hawkins also brings a better deep passing game dimension to the offense than McCareins, who can get open, but has trouble making the catch.

I don't agree with Bloom that Hawkins looked like a better receiver than Jackson. He's got a bigger body and has pretty good body control, but I think Jackson runs better routes. And Hawkins has very suspect hands; we lost to Stanford because Hawkins dropped two TD passes in a row, the first one a simple floater with no defense. I wouldn't expect him to make a fantasy impact.

Worth a pickup in dynasty leagues?
I had a open spot this week on a 25 deep roster in a dynasty league, and he's among the group of likely (rookie) drafted WRs that didn't make final cut downs depending on roster sizes. Similar to guys like Earl Bennett, Early Doucett, Simpson & Caldwell in CIN, etc. I looked @ him, but considering the anemic passing game in TN (now and for the foreseeable future w/ Fischer coaching) I just don't see the upside even IF he manages to get on the field w/ any regularity.Depending on where your team is currently (contending vs. building) he's probably worth rostering just b/c he's getting some PT. Though I wouldn't be expecting much more than 2 or 3 catches for 35 yds. There's also a lot less competition (WR quality wise) in TN @ this point. And I wouldn't drop anyone that's been starting in the NFL thus far for him.My .o2

good postI'm still plenty intrigued.I loved how shifty he was when I got to see him. I think that could be surprisingly useful in their short passing game.I remember an odd comment about him "catches poorly thrown balls well". Seconds after I read that I clicked to the shark pool and people were dissing Vince Young. Coincidence? Still makes me chuckle.
