i know he got hurt in preseason, but how bad was it?
in the draft, he went right after willis.... does he have any value? with him and woodley as lb's, is there enough room on the field for all their lb's?
My personal opinion is that he is better suited as a 4-3 WLB. I can't say for sure, but I believe they will go to the 4-3 in the future, considering Tomlin's background. I think he stayed with the 3-4 partly because they don't have 4-3 personnel right now. I really don't think Timmons has any value this year. He is not starting, and even if he did, most 3-4 OLBs have limited value.
Timmons injury in training camp, beleive it was a hamstring or something along those lines, set him back in terms of his development. WTS, I think he should have good long term value. In time you may see Pittsburgh incorporate both 3-4 and 4-3 sets, where Timmons may play inside in a 3-4, and outside in the 4-3.
tomlin is a graduate of william & mary and he still comes to town every now and then(i missed him when he was here this past summer)...but if i get to hook up with him the next time he is in town I will ask him about the direction of their D
fwiw my MIL works for W&M and we do some fund raisers for their alumni events too
Not sure I would get too excited ... he's prolly just keepin the seat warm, but then again, Tomlin may bring him along slowly. I haven't been following this situation at all. This is nothing more than an uneducated guess.
LT was hampered by a groin injury up until about 2-3 weeks ago. That said, he looked very good thursday vs. CAR and make a few great plays, one where he ran down the RB from weak side to strong side and got a tackle for a loss
I expect him to play more and more, and with that in mind, I dont see Harrison having too much value. LT will probably be in as a 3rd down pass rusher quite often, thus limiting Harrison's numbers
Timmons has more long term value than short term. I think he was drafted because eventually (maybe next year?) I think the Steelers will transition to the 4-3, because Tomlin coached the Tampa-2 defense. I think his value this year is limited. But if they switch next year, he is likely to play WLB and could have great value. Keep an eye on this as the year progresses, and buy low later from impatient owners.
