Lawrence Tynes - Great Cheap Kicker (1 Viewer)

Picked Tynes up as my K in 3 of 4 leagues. As a kicker in general, Tynes is average at best, However, as an FF kicker, Tynes is money. The Giants simply get lots of FG chances.

Look at him after two weeks, 11 and 15 points respectively. I believe he is now the #1 FF kicker after two weeks. Also note that in the final FBG rankings Tynes was #15 and #11 respectively.

If you happen to be in a league where Tynes is still out there on the WW, you should make a move to pick him up now.

:goodposting: A kicker on a team with a good defense that can't seem to finish in the red zone, is :thumbup:Add in that Eli is very good at the two minute drill and there will be lots of halftime and game ending FG's.

I picked him up yesterday morning. I was lucky to get him. Figured he was money. Plus he doesn't have a bye week until week 10.

Picked him 2nd to last in my draft.

I had no problem throwing him in there these 2 weeks, I don't know why he was rated so low preseason.

Now Tynes owners can all :lmao: at the different site rankings and projections as Lawrence was about kicker # 25 going into this week, and will now suddenly appear in everyone's top 10 in week 3.

I drafted him in the last round in two of my leagues. Kickers are all about getting the opportunity for a FG kick, and Tynes will get plenty. Now that Carney has been out of the picture I wouldn't be surprised to see a top 3 finish.

For some reason he went undrafted...I actually dropped Akers for him after week 1...and Im not looking back.

Great example of why you should never take a kicker early. Drafted him after 14 kickers were off the board this year.

So far, so good. I also picked him off waivers before week 1 when there were rumblings about Adam Vinatieri not being healthy. I have been ecstatic about his production thus far. I'm a little worried about what will happen when the weather begins to turn, but I'm going to ride the wave for now.

The Giants have attempted 52 field goals in their past 19 games (counting playoff vs. Eagles from last year). It's all about opportunity.

Im considering dropping Akers for him this week. The Gmen have gotten him plenty of opportunity and I think he will finnish higher than Akers this year.

Yea, he was an obvious steal at the draft. I believe Carney led the league in kicker fantasy scoring last year, so the Giants certainly represent the right opportunity for a FF kicker. And, with Carney leaving town, it was clear that the Giants had enough faith in Tynes to be their guy in 2009. I didn't see his miss last night though, was it from long distance, or did he just miss an easy one? Still 4-5 isn't bad.

It was very short (30yds?) but it happens. Guy had 5 FG tries last night. On his miss Wade Phillips celebrated like they had won the SB. Dearest Jerry, please write a blank check to Cowher, Gruden, Shanahan, Holmgren, etc.
