Ok, here's the situation. I'm playing in the first round of the playoffs against the Brady owner whose team consists of Brady, Edwards, Holt, Stallworth, Lendale, Fargas, Dallas Clark, Mason Crosby, and Minnesota. At least, it did have all those guys on it, until this week when Fargas got hurt.

A day after the news that Fargas would miss the rest of the season, his brother (also in the league but out of playoff contention) dropped Frank Gore and he picked Gore up immediately. I noticed this and called him out on the league message board. They claimed to be "joking" (but only after everyone else in the league noticed) and the guy dropped Gore again and his brother picked him back up.

I wanted a punishment for this because they were obviously trying to cheat, but the commissioner said no because then it would give my team an advantage. I thought, "Ok, well, he'll just have to pick someone off the waiver wire," and since we're in a 16 team league where RBs are just not available at all (best on wire is probably along the lines of Gado) I thought it would be a blow to his team, like it should have been.

Well, he picked up Kenny Watson and started him. And I lost. By 2 points. Watson had 19.

Am I wrong in saying that this guy should have been punished somehow for what he did, or am I just venting and don't really have a point here?

They fixed the mistake, otherwise you would have had a gripe. if you don't trust him, then find a new league. As for Watson, why on earth would that not be a valid pickup? hell, I picked him up for an injured player this week and he was a welcome addition to the squad.

No, it's a valid pickup, I'm not questioning that. I'm saying that the fact that there was an obvious attempt to cheat that was let go is an issue.Gore had 19.2 points.

I wouldn't play a league again with anyone who tried to cheat.

Also, I only play in leagues where you cannot pick up dropped players until the following week; but hey, that's me.

The starting Cinci RB playing against CLE in weather more suited to run than pass and you didnt think this was a valid option?

This one is all on you. Should have made a play for the block.

Oh, I'd be plenty pissed.....and if they weren't close friends or family I'd ditch the league. However, no harm was done and the eventual pickup was valid. Essentially if he did cheat he would have won by 2.2. By not cheating he won by 2. It sucks, btu no harm no foul. It isn't like you can make up a rule this late in the season to account for his "joke".

I think you're looking for some sort of penalty because you lost and you're scrambling for a way to create a victory from your defeat.

Unfortunately for you, you lost legitimately.

Unless your league has rules stating specifics of infractions and penalties, you can't demand that haphazard penalties be enforced after the fact specifically designed to benefit you.

You want them kicked out of the league for cheating? You can peruse that if you want but you lost the game.

My advice?

Deal with it.

They weren't "just joking". They tried to cheat and got called out. But there isn't anything you can do except try to get an asterisk put next to his playoff win over you.

* tried to cheat but got caught

Why was Kenny Watson available in a 16-team league?? He's been rostered in my 10-team-league since October.

P.S. Yes you are wrong.

HOW ON EARTH is Kenny Watson available in a 16-team league?!?!

I'd be as embarrassed (if not more) that I didn't block my opponent from picking him up than a possible cheating scenario in this case.

Season's over & you don't have to return next year.
