League Lineup and Scoring (1 Viewer)

I feel I am possibly not posting in the right forum here but I am really not asking on who to draft/start and I knew I would get better response here if I am not dumped. :bag:

I am moving our 12 team league to a new fantasy managing site this year. Last year is the first year I did not manually score things and last year we also played around with a scoring system and lineup configuration. Most were OK with it and 1 team just hated it. Well, with moving again we are going to look at what we want for lineup and scoring so I thought I would ask for input here on what was liked best for scoring system, starting lineup and roster size for a 12 team league.

Only 1 thing to keep in mind. We get together on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to hold the draft every year. I want to keep it somewhat simple because when the beers are pouring a few teams start getting (ummm distracted by rounds 13 and beyond) so I don't want to set up some sort of 25-30 man rosters. These guys will never make it!

I'm not implying that I like this the best, but if you're looking for something with a little structure (as opposed to just bench spots you can fill with anyone), one of my 12-team leagues uses a roster of 16 players with 8 starters:Roster - 2 QB, 3 RB, 4 WR, 1 RB/WR flex, 2 TE, 2 K, 2 DST

Start - 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DST

The fact that you can't just load up at the skill positions puts a premium on drafting well and hitting the waiver wire during the season. The draft takes a couple of hours, nothing too crazy. By the end of it we're all drunk and fighting over Jose Cortez. :banned:

I'm not sure what you're looking for with scoring, but our scoring is pretty standard: 4 pts per Pass TD, 6 for all other TDs. 1 pt/10 yards rushing/receiving. 1 pt/20 yards passing. It's really easy to tweak any scoring system to your liking. Is there something in particular you have in mind?

Our league has a unique high performance scoring system that makes games exciting to the end. The thing is, its very hard to find cheatsheets for this unless you use Draft Dominator. First of all, our head-to-head regular season and total points playoff format league allows for 17 players on each roster. We're allowed to start between 1-3 RB's, 1 QB, 2-4 WR's, 1-2 TE's, 1 PK and 1 DEF.

Because it would take more than this space to break down our whole scoring system, let me summarize it with this: Any TD's including defense are valued from 6 points to 50 points, based on length of score. We get .16 points per rushing or receiving yard, 1 point per rush or completion, .05 points per passing yard, 3 per reception, and -3 for an INT or fumble lost.

Defensively, it's 2 points per sack, 6 points for a safety, 3 for an INT or fumble recovery. We are given -10 to 20, depending on how many yards allowed, and 25 to -5, based on how many points allowed.

Kicker scoring is based on length of kick and is between 7 and -3 points. 3 points are also subtracted for a missed PAT.

It's a hard scoring system to get used to, but like I said it makes for exciting head-to-head matchups.
