League Rule Changes (1 Viewer)

Our league is a 12 team redraft league with an optional first round keeper. The current rule is that you may carry over one player from last year's team to this year and give up your first round pick. You can not keep the same player for 2 consecutive years (although you may redraft them if available at your pick). The first round of the draft starts with the 12 pick and works back to 1 with a "Keep" or "Pass" pick...then we start 1 through 12 straight with the remaining player pool.

We are discussing going to a multiple player keeper league along with a redraft. Any suggestions out there? The big question for us is the guy who won the league last year has LJ and SA on his roster, and no one will want him to keep both (he kept SA from the previous year's roster..so under current rules would not be able to keep him).

IMO, these are questions that are answered at the beginning of this year and take affect NEXT year. Everytime we have a rules change involving rosters, keepers, number of starters etc, we discuss it, play the current year under the old rules, then the following year it takes affect. UNLESS it's something that needs immediate attention, but this doesn't sound like your case. If you really want to be fair about it, dump EVERYONE back in the pool and start fresh. That's probably the best scenario.

:goodposting: However, if starting over is not an option... Maybe you can limit the number of RB's to one per team. Everyone will be able to keep X amount of players with 1 RB and they'll still be able to draft accordingly, meaning the 1st Round will still be RB heavy. Plus it'll allow everyone a chance to grab a premier running back.

*Edit* I didn't realize he had to throw SA back...

Thanks guys for the good suggestions. Our league meeting is at lunch and this will be a hot topic. Any additional suggestions are welcome.

From our by-laws (10 team, 2 player keeper option)

All GM's have the option to tag 2 players from last year's roster as "Franchise Players" which will allow them to have rights to that player for the upcoming season.

**Franchise Players can only be claimed by one GM for a maximum of two consecutive seasons

**A player labeled as "Franchise" for two consec. seasons by one GM is not allowed to be traded (this guarantees them to be available in the Supplemental Draft the following season)

Any GM that chooses not to retain rights to the maximum two "Franchise Players" will have the right to participate in the Supplemental Draft. By tagging one "Franchise Player" allows one pick (end of Round 2) in the Supplemental Draft. By tagging no "Franchise Players" from last year's squad allows two picks (Round 1 & Round 2) in the Supplemental Draft.

Order of Supplemental Draft will go in accordance to the GM's record last season: Worst to First Order
