My Local league is considering a scoring format change. It is currently a high scoring format heavily reliant on long TDs. I haven't been a big fan of its current format for a good while.

I am interested in hearing unique scoring formats outside of the basic standard scoring/ppr, ect. Specifically, I'd like to hear ideas on leagues that do have some distance TD format. I don't mind the distance bonuses, but my current league is way out of hand.

Anyone willing to share?

In 2013, we went with 6 point TDs for 19 yards and in, 1 bonus point for 20-39, another for 40-59, another for 60-79 and one for 80-99. So a 50 yard TD is 8. Our yardage is done at 20 yard increments instead of 10. So a 50 yard TD is actually 8 + 2 = 10, where as in 10 yard increment leagues, it is 11.

All this was done to try and keep our scoring as close to possible to our previous system that was created in 1995. Back then thru 2012, a 50 yard TD was 12 points but yardage was 3 points at 75 yards and 6 at 100 yards....which came out of a book back in the early 90s if not late 80s.

Yup, same as guy above. We do the 5-layer system too. Inside 20 no bonus. Then 20-39 +1, 40-59 +2, 60-79 +3, 80+ +4.
